You need to take your baby to the emergency room or pediatrician. Around this time of year especially if you're in a palce like me where the weather changes a lot. It is crucial for them. The common cold for a baby can cause an ear infection. If you can hear your babies congestion/ weezing, the baby could have a respiratory infection. My baby had this same thing and was spitting green mucus. I had taken her to the doctor 2 days before Christmas. Then the day after an ear infection. I would say treat the cold early. If you're not sure what to give her ask the pediatrician. Vicks baby rub is really good, but your baby is to young to use it. There is tyenol cough & cold, robitusson, and other items for babies. You can also use a cool mist humidifier. They work wonders!

Nursing will help her fight the common cold a lot fast, but sometimes you have to give in and treat them.

Hi,

I used a product called otrivine for kids, its nose drops u put in the nose and it unblocks the nose, it isnt supposed to be used under 3 months but i used it on my 2nd child from 3 weeks i used it a few times a day to help her feed better.

colds only last for 5 day if its longer baby has been re infected.

If u r worried about giving medicine under 3 months steamy bathroom helps to ease nasal congestion, and of course all the usual vaporubs, carvol, olbus for kids etc help too.

Oh, bless her. If she's having difficulty feeding, then a trip to the doctor is in order. Sounds like it's just a heavy cold though, they all get them.

Give her Infant's Motrin. That will clear her up and she will be able to feed easier. both of my children caught colds when they were at that age and after giving this to them, they nursed and went to sleep.

She could be lactose intolerant or have a bad cold or reflux. All of that happens in babies too.

I would call your pediatrician just to let him/her know what's going on. Unfortunately this won't be her last cold and last runnynose. Is she eating okay? is she making enough wet/ & poopy diapers?
