If the infant lost blood then yes. If its just a few spots thats no sweat but if it was enough to ooze or anything then yes. Infants have far less blood than an adult so a small amount can equal a large pecent. If you are in doubt call the ambulance and just ask them to come check th infant out and you can always refuse hospital transport.
I do actually work in emergency medicine so I am familiar with the topic.

Well never put anything on a baby cut that you don't want to get into their eyes or mouth. Because unless the cut is under the diaper or one the back that is where it is going to end up! Maybe under a really secure band-aid.
Breastmilk is antibacterial. Vaseline can be used just to keep the cut moist. However if you are going to use polysporin or another antibacterial cream use the smallest amount possible.

No, treat it just like you would treat it on an adult. Clean it out with some water and a little soap first, and then put some Peroxide on it. If it needs a band-aide use it but little cuts heal better if you let the air get to them.

wash with soap and water. Put on antibiotic ointment and a band aid. Change band aid when it gets wet. Keep the cut moist with ointment and covered to speed healing, prevent scarring.
If a cut takes longer than 8 minutes to stop bleeding, it might need stitches. Yes, 8 is the magic number.

A baby can easily get cut... by their own fingernails usually. It seems no matter how much you trim them, one shaperns up over night. Babies can also get cut accidently by older siblings, moms fingernails, a cat, the zipper on daddy;s jacket. Things happen.
I agree with the others, soap and water, no bandaid unless it can be covered safely to aviod choking. Keep an eye on it, and it it shows signs of infection see a doctor.

No...clean it and put neosporin (or a generic equivalent) on it. I personally always use bandaids on my kids when they get a cut, just because they're not as careful about keeping it clean as an adult would be.

Wondering why/how and infant got a minor cut. Keep the cut clean and covered with a band aid. Get the child to pediatrition if there is any redness/infection.
For those who gave a thumbs down - the questioner said and infant - not a toddler or child. How does a baby get cut.

children heal faster than adults depending on the cut just clean it. if its a scratch it will heal in 2-3 days if not sooner but if it looks deep definitely take the child in. bumps scrapes bruises are all normal the baby should be fine but if your still worried take him/her to the doc.

Don't use a band-aid because he/she can get it in his/her mouth and choke.
To RA63: Have you ever tried trimming the nails on an infant? Their claws can get so long in a short period of time. If they don't scratch their own faces, then it's highly probable they will accidently get their skin clipped at one point or another.
