My 9 mth old only needs the pacifier at night and during naps to sleep. She often loses it and wakes up crying every hour or so. I am constantly having to get up and plug her back in. I would be fine with her having it until about a year if shesatyed asleep but she doesn't. Any ideas on how to wean her from it? I m not sure about doing it cold turkey since shes so young. Thanks

My daughter is 10 months and i am going through the exact same thing you are. Honey let me tell you people say oh just through it away and let them cry it out for a few nights. Please after to solid nights of crying and neither of you sleeping come on what would anybody do.

Maddy(my daughter) needed her passy 24-7. During the day i tried keeping her buisy so she wasent so focused on her passy but you better believe she didnt let that thing out of her sight. After that i started not letting her have it at one of her naps. Every few days i would take it from another nap. Say she take 3 naps a day. One day only give it to her at 2 naps and bed time. She cried herself to sleep at nap time of course. Continue doing that evey few days. Try replacing her passy with another security object. We got a blankie bear.(stuffed teady bear w/ a little blanket sewed onto it.) I am still working on getting the passy taken away at night time but she is compleatly with out it during naps. Its a slow and gruling process but hang in there.

Good luck!!!

on your case i could say bypass chilly turkey. It seems such as you have been restricting the time yet relapsed and it could happen returned in case you attempt it that way. merely toss them out. Or do some thing "cutesy" to do away with them. i've got heard of a few mum and dad attempting them to balloons so the little toddlers in Heaven would have them. I additionally did see a e book approximately removing the pacifier at aim. It exchange into for little ones and with each turn of the website between the little ones could be rid of their pacifier.

Everything I've read from other mothers says to just let them cry it out when they lose the binky. I know it's hard and it could take awhile but sometimes that's the only way. And the babies they were talking about were younger than yours, like 4 and 5 months. Good Luck!

DEAR first there is something i would like to say on this matter (1) she should still be breast feeding until (12) months she still needs your vitamins mom and as (2) for the pacifier they make something much better then that it is called a thumb yourr choose if ou want her to be right handed are left handed (3) if left make her suck the right one (4) if you want her right handed then use thee left one and do not let the doctor are dentist that she needs to stop it the teeth of hers can be fixed later in her life she will quit on her own all so in the place of pacifier use a doll blanket stuff toy teddy bear baby pillow are a travel pillow OK people ask me how do i know so much because i do not i have kids because i have nephews and niece's and the medical books my aunt has from a-z it show photos and they read it me that why i can answer some of your questions and they are right and you can trust i do not believe health to me is no joke to me it real no playing for me

I would start with the naps and give her an item that she likes during the day. She will eventually learn to sleep with out the pacifer. Then slowly work it to bed time.

I took my sons away at 6 months cold turkey and he was fine just took a couple of days and I little bit of crying. My son was they same way when he was young and I gave it to him as a newborn but when I knew he could suck his fingers I knew it was time to get rid of it. I strongly believe babies sleep better without them. Take it away at naps first, let her cry to sleep the first few times this might take a few days and she might not sleep much as she gets used to it. Then 2 weeks later take it at bedtime. She will quickly learn other ways to calm herself. PLEASE get rid of it before a year if you can, its easiest to do before they can talk back!

Maybe try cutting it out during naps and give her a blanket instead and then once she can nap without it take it away at night. Good Luck!

With my daughter, I just cut the tip off it. She put it in her mouth to suck on it and tooked it out and kinda looked at it funny cause it went flat. She carried it around for about a day and then just kinda forgot about it. Good luck!

I'd just throw it out in front of her. Let her see that it's gone.
There will be some fussing, but talk to her in a smoothing way, telling her it's gone.

Babies are very smart. at 9 months, they do understand what you're telling them... :D

at nine months old she should be able to put it back in her own mouth but if she doesn't move much when she sleeps try propping it with a small stuffed animal. if she doesn't let go by time shes one then you ween her off
