My baby girl is 14 days old...we seem to have finally got the nursing down. However, when I am feeding her, the other side leaks SO much! I have to use breastshield things cause I have slightly flat nipples...these darn things FILL up with milk and I spill milk every time I lean over...plus, it is SO annoying to wake up at 2am with my shirt SOAKED. Any advice? Should I pump the "off" side or will that just make more milk and compound the problem? I tried the pad things but they reflatten my nipples and she can't latch on...please help!!

I had a check-up today and doctor told me he would try to stripe my membranes, but I forgot to ask afterward if he really did... I've been having really strong menstrual like cramps ever since, but I don't think it is contractions as it is not pain that comes and goes, it hurts constantly. Couple minutes ago I went to the bathroom and when wiping myself I saw what seems to be part of a mucous plug - clear mucous with bloody tint in it {yes, it was as gross as it sounds}. Can the menstrual like pain be caused by stripping my membranes or it is more likely from loosing the plug?

we are not game people--like to talk and visit while the new mom opens gifts; would like to give nice favors, not too cutsie, but something women would enjoy at home. Have thought of making bath salts; any other ideas? thanks

I am expecting another baby and not sure where or not I should let my daughter be in the room. There will be plenty of people there to keep an eye on her so that isn't an issue. I don't know how she might react to seeing it all happen or her reaction to what the baby will look like when it is born.

I went to my ob today, and she said that my baby had "dropped". She said for me to keep an eye out for contractions and call if I started feeling weird. She said if my baby were born now, she would be healthy, so she wasnt worried. Does this mean that my baby will be born soon? How long after your babies dropped did you actually go into labor? Or isnt this really a labor sign at all?

Hey guys,
just wonderding what a good brand of nappies are? I find huggies are good and they look cute on my newborn but they are soo expensive. $40 a box of 100!!!!!! I have tried Babylove and found they leak from the sides (breastbaby, if u know what i mean)
And bub gets nappy rash easy too. I havent tried any other ones yet.
I just dont want to go out and buy other brands and find they have the same problems and then not want to use them. I feel i would have wasted money.
Thanks guys

I know that infants have different types of poops. I don't know if I should be concerned about this. I did a yahoo search but came up empty.

My daughters poops are often different. One day, they'll be like mustard, the next day, they will be a thick green. Tonight, after her bottle, she had a poop and I changed her. It was yellow and watery and it had mucus (darker greenish colour) in it. There wasn't very much, but enough that I am concerned.

I wasn't playing with it, but I took the diaper and touched it to see the consistancy and it stretched. It sort of looked like and was the consistancy of a females discharge when she is ovulating.

Any ideas? Serious answers only please :)

Thanks!

My baby had a cold and the doctor prescibed him some antibotics. My baby went in the frig and somehow opened the bottle and took it all. I don't think it was much in there because I had been giving him medicine everyday. But I am just scared that he overdosed. He is still playing around like he normally do. And it's been about 15 or 20 minutes. Please somebody give me some advice.....

There has been a lot of hype about benadryl and babies due to benadryl overdose deaths. Everything I read says never to give Benadryl (or any antihistimine) to a baby under 1. A recent study shows that it is dangerous because antihistimines don't work in babies so you can't tell when you've overdosed until its too late (http://www.consumerreports.org/mg/free-highlights/manage-your-health/benadryl_babies_sleep.htm). But doctors and nurses I've talked to have different opinions. Some say its ok, some say absolutely not. What do you guys say?

My baby has been seen by a doctor within the last 24 hours, in which the quack said she was just teathing....even though she didn't act this way when her last four teeth came in! I called her pediatrician this morning and told that doctor everything that was going on with my baby and she said it was a norovirus that is going around, and to monitor her and let it take its course. Since then my babies diapers have become water and she hasn't had a wet diaper in about 10 hours. I just now realized that I haven't changed her diaper since before I started preparing supper a good ten hours ago. I laid her down to change her and her diaper is dry! She does have tears and her mouth is wet, though. She is 12 months old. How long should I wait before calling her pediatrician again? She's nursing plenty, she must be dehydrating because her stools are so watery or something!!! Help!!!
