Keep a close eye on him, it would take about 90 minutes to see if he had too much. Try to remember how much was before in the bottle and just in case call the emergency number of your pediatrician he can tell you for sure, it really depends on the medication. Some medicine is dangerous even if you go a little over the doze. Better safe than sorry. Or you can try to make him throw it back up in 20 minutes it might not be yet digested.Good luck.

Somehow got in the fridge? Opened the bottle? How old is this "baby"? 20 minutes or EVEN an HOUR is not long enough to know what effect this will have. Call your ER and ask for assistance. NOW...
LIVER damage can be done with large amounts or even DOUBLE doses of MEDS.
Hey , Tylenol mom, my nephew was critically ill with liver shut down after half that dose. How long ago did that happen?

Call Posion Controll or take your child to the ER. What was he taking?? If your talking about the pink bubblegum flavored medicine then your baby will be fine. I dont understand how a baby opened the fridge and then opened a bottle that should be child proof.

You can call poison control. They can tell you if you should induce vomiting (probably not) or if you should give him something to balance out his stomach until it passes. They'll tell you what to watch for with an overdose and give you an idea of when he's back in the clear. Don't flip out too much, you'll stress your baby out and that won't help the situation.

You should call poison control just to be sure. Usually you can tell by their behavior, but sometimes you can't and there might be medicines in that antibiotic that can cause internal damage if taken in to large of an amount. the number for poison control should be on the first page of your yellow pages.

I wouldn't say calling your doctor or Poison Control is over-reacting if you think your baby overdosed. Even if he's fine i think it's worth a call to either if you're scared he overdosed.

Call the poison control center. They can tell you not only if the baby overdosed, but how to deal with it.

I think the other people are over reacting. Just watch him closely for the next 2 hrs and if he starts acting strangely,.i e bumping into things, lying listly, staring into space or vomiting then take him to doctor. My son once did the same thing, and he was 100%fine.
