You need to send someone out to get Pedialyte (sp) and some Canada Dry ginger ale at Rite Aid or Walgreens or Wal-Mart or the grocery store, some where near by. And if you don't have a baby bottle and nipple, get one of those, too. Baby food applesauce would be good and maybe a little rice cereal mixed with your breast milk. If she doesn't pee pretty soon after you try to get some fuilds in her, take her to the emergency room. It's a good sign that she's nursing, so that's a blessing. This really upsets me. She could probably take some of the ginger ale in a cup or teaspoon if you don't want to mess with the bottle. Good luck.

Forget calling the doctor. Go to the ER NOW! If your child has not had a wet diaper in 10 hours you need to take her some where there can intraveiniously rehydrate her. She needs to be monitored as well. Rotoviruses can be very dangerous. In my oppinion your doctor is a quack who does not care about their patients, so while you are in the ER with your child (once things have calmed a bit) ask around a see what pedeatritians (sp?) they like they most, and start doctor shopping. NOTHING is more important than your child.

Are you sure she is dehydrated? The first thing to go when a baby is dehydrated is saliva and tears. If she still has them she might not be dehydrated. Check the soft spot and see if it is sunken. Give your little one some water or juice to hydrate her back. Sometimes babies do not urinate for a long time it does not mean that they are dehydrated it is just that what they ate got absorbed and did not turn into urine just yet. But you are the mother and know netter, if you feel that she is dehydrated call the doc now and let him know, if you feel that he does not have any good advice call your local hospital and talk to the ped on call.

Hmm I know under 6 months the rule is if they don't wet a diaper in 6 hours go to the ER.
Much as it sucks I would go see a doctor. I guess that probably means the ER, but check your phone book sometimes there are doctors that do housecalls. Probably costs, but compare the price to hours in the ER.
Also check to see if there is a nurse line available to you, either publically or through your insurance. There is one where I live.

Don't wait, call now. Never apologize for calling the doctor, always better safe than sorry. A dry diaper is not a good sign, you do not want to wait until there are no tears! Do you have pedialyte?

You are more likely to get an accurate prediction if the baby is more developed. There is still no guarantee that they will tell you the right gender though. They also wait because they want to give you the least amount of ultrasounds possible because they cost money and there are still no definite answers as to how the fetus is affected by the ultrasound. Best wishes!

Poor little thing. Since she has a virus she may have less urine as she isn't well. My four children didn't get their teeth until they were over 1 year old and didn't experience anything like that. She is old enough to drink juice and water, so definitely keep her fluids up but you really should get her into the ER asap!!!. Her poo is probably watery because she isn't well and the bug is going through her little system. My little boy was 18 months and had eaten some garden potting mix - he couldn't keep anything down, not even water, and his poo was really watery but no urine! He was crying and crying and we took him to the ER. He was immediately admitted to hospital as he was severely dehydrated. He was in the hospital for 3 days with a drip to re-hydrate him and given special ice-blocks with electrolytes in them. It was awful and he looked like one of those pictures of the sad little Romanian orphans with sunken black eyes. I was so thankful I took him in. It is your baby's health at stake here... go now.

If you're not getting the answers you need then take her to the emergency room NOW!
When my daughter was 2 she contracted a virus and so did her 2 brothers. The doctor gave the boys a shot (there's was really mild) but my daughter was hospitalized. Children can die from dehydration and it's nothing to play around with. Get her to the emergency room now!

Dehydration in an infant is deadly serious. Do her eyes appear sunken or have dark circles under them? Is she more lethargic than usual? If you suspect she is dehydrated, don't wait. Get her checked out. She may need IV fluids in an ER if she is truly dehydrated. My son had to have that once when he had severe diarrhea and became dehydrated. Better not to take the chance.

Rather then ask the question to a bunch of people that are not experienced, why not call your doctor right away. If you feel your child is dehydrated then get her to the doctor, dehydration is not something that can be taken lightly, its serious.
