Oh yes. I had pain on and off for quite a few months. If you watch them perform a c-section on TV you will be appalled at how rough they are. And all the pushing and pulling with those surgical retractors is no picnic.

11 months after my last c-section I was decorating the house for a childs party, held my arms over my head to do streamers....felt like someone had hit me with an axe. You had major surgery and it takes a LONG time for all of that to heal. Take some Tylenol and try not to do too much strenuous stuff for a few days.

You haven't even had your 6 weeks recheck yet! The OB has to give you a clean bill of health before you do anything like vacuum, put the stroller in/out of the car, or carry heavy bags of groceries. Take it easy my dear. A heating pad applied to the belly and some Tylenol is what got me through it. Take care and take it easy. Ask for help when you need it, please.

First of all, Congrats on your new baby!! Second, I had a c-section 2 1/2 years ago and I remember it taking quite a while to get back to "normal". It does take a while for the soreness to go away. The longer you sit, the more it hurts when you get up and move. Your muscles are just getting used to working together again. Seems like what you are feeling is normal, though. Recovery time depends on the person. If it's REALLY bad pain, that isn't normal. Then you should call your doc. But if it's just super-duper sore...that's normal. Talk to your doc at your checkup, though, just to be sure. Also, make sure you don't run any fevers. That could be a sign of an infection. I know it seems hard right now but enjoy this time because they grow soooooooo quick and then you miss it...

Yes. Expect 6 weeks to heal, longer if you have any complications or do too much too soon.

I remember crying a month after my first c-section, because I felt like I would never heal. Then about 2 weeks later, I suddenly realized I was pain free and had been for a couple of days.

Don't overdo it, take it easy, and don't worry, it will get better eventually! If you have any pain other than some tenderness around the incision site by your 6 week drs. appointment, make sure you address it then!

Hmmm... i've got had 4 c-sections, which contains 1 5 months in the past. None of them are in any respect such as you describe. they are seen, yet no longer somewhat raised or darkish. No soreness whatsover anymore - and that's been a whilst considering there grow to be any soreness. And the itching with my final one stopped numerous weeks in the past. the only component ongoing that I even have stumbled on is that there is a small section above the incisions the place it is like I haven't any feeling. i assume it is a few style of nerve harm, and it would not extremely hassle me in any respect. possibly it is as your physician says and various human beings heal at diverse expenditures and various procedures. yet your journey is definitely diverse than mine. i might get a 2nd opinion from a doctor. good success!

Yep. I did the same thing. If you're anything like me, you are eager to get back into the swing of things and underestimating the time it takes your body to heal from such a major surgery.

A cesarian is not a minor thing -- they've cut major muscle, tissue and god knows what else. Take it easy, even a little bit longer than you think you need to. Going overboard just makes it take longer to get better. I speak from experience. At least 3 times I thought I was 100% and then lifted something too heavy and set myself back for several weeks!

And you will be back -- just give it some time.

I agree with Tiki Goddess. I found the first few weeks sore, but not bad and then it kinda got tender again. I was on painkillers for about 10 days too, so once that compeltely gets out of your system the pain comes back.
But honestly I think it was not 100% for about 6-9 months. My husband would come home and cuddle me hello and try to lift me up and I was like "Whoa, can't do that for a while".
But if you are really worried go back to your OBY/GYN.

Yes, i had a c-section in November and after about 2 weeks I felt great! Then a few weeks later I hurt like heck again! I think it's just the muscles getting used again.

i had a c-section but i actually recovered very quickly but every body's body is different and it takes a very long time for a woman's body to recover after having a baby and enough longer after having a c-section, what you're experiencing isn't abnormal but i would still consult my doctor if i were you because i don't think the pain should be that severe to whereas you don't want to walk, i felt like that for the 1st two weeks that i was home from the hospital but after that it wasn't that bad so maybe you should give your doctor a call just to be safe, good luck

You probably over-worked the muscles while you were feeling better. I think it's pretty common. I had a c-section last February and I wasn't totally back to myself for a good 6 to 8 weeks. Good luck!
