I had a baby 7 weeks ago. I have been breastfeeding since he was born and would like to continue to breastfeed until he is 6 months old. My midwife said the estrogen in birth control pills can affect my milk supply. I also do not want a birth control that will cause weight gain...any suggestions?

He wakes up all night!!! The other night he woke up 11 times between 10pm and 6am. He only takes 1-2 naps during the day 1 around 10am for maybe a hour and then again around 4pm for an hour. I try and let him cry/scream but he bothers the other kids. I hate it because the 1st half hour-hour after waking up in the morning to get the other kids ready for school I am real grumpy and it bites cause I know I am and I try not to be but every little thing pisss me off and I feel bad for my other boys. My other kids didnt sleep like this. And to top it off I am 8 months pregnant due Jan 21. Me taking naps during the day really isnt an option because the other kids in school in sports and other after school activies. My husband works 6-7days a week. The doctor dosent seem to think there is anything wrong with his sleep patterns.

I am fighting a war with my wife and her mother on how to dress our baby going from the house to the car. (outdoor exposure 45 seconds). I am convinced tha tthe baby does not need to be over dressed, Just a hat and a blanket should be enough, but they insist a sweater is needed, etc.
I need advice. Our pediatrician, insists that cold exposure has nothing to do with getting sick.
I am conviced that the more clothes the baby wears, the more sensitive to cold weather he will be in the future. Is tolerance to temperature genetic? or the body/mind learn with exposure? HELP!!

Every time i put my daughter on her tummy she only stays calm for about 5 minutes than she completely flips out and wants to sit up. I know she should be starting to roll over but she won't stay on her tummy. I bought one of those boppy tummy time mats and even that doesn't keep her interested. any suggestions?

How do babies know when to laugh/smile at something?

For instance, when somebody makes a funny face or noise at them, how do they know to laugh and giggle at this instead of taking it as threatening or seeing it as just a normal part or daily life?

My mom and aunt wanted to get my daughter clothes for Christmas, so they asked her size about a month prior to Christmas. At 5 months old, she already weighed 18 lbs and was in 6-9 month clothing, so I told them anything from 6-12 months should be fine. (She was over 9 lbs at birth and is following her growth chart well.) She turned 6 months less than a week before Christmas, and had gained another pound. Well, she recieved a few outfits, but they were all 3-6 month clothing. I was dumfounded. I don't know if they think I was exagerrating her weight, or they just plain out forgot. They look like they were purchased on clearance, so I don't think I could have taken them back if I had said anything. What is the best way to handle this? My aunt wants to "see her" in one of the outfits when we come to visit next week.

Any suggestions as to how to get him to sleep later? He's tired again by 7:30 or 8am. He goes down for the night by 7:30pm and is exhausted by then. Usually takes at least 1 and usually 2 good naps during the day (AM and PM) and he isn't hungry right away when he wakes in the morning.

My four month old daughter is waking up several times (more than 10 times ) during the night. She rubs her face a lot and the only way to confort her is the pacifier..It has been like that for the past three weeks. She sleeps in her crib. Can be that her face is itching (eczema) ? Sometimes after rubbing her face she develops a rash... But she only rubs her face when she wants to sleep... Or is a growth spurr?
