Sometimes it helps if you rub their tummies if they have gas.
If you take a spoon full of water and "spill" it on a burp rag, then you will see the normal baby size spit up is about equal to this.
This is normal, but if you are worried, then try burping baby for a few more minutes, until all the air comes up. This may help get rid of some gas on her tummy too.
Babies like to be rocked nbecause it reminds them of being "walked" in the womb!

I was so concerned because my baby spit up after every meal. She gained weight just fine though so there was no concern from our pediatrician. If the spitting up is causing her to lose weight or not gain, then you should be concerned. Otherwise it is a normal part of having a baby. I am on baby #2 now and we keep lots and los of little towels around for all of the spit up!
I had great success with swaddling with a cranky baby. Read or check out the video for "The Happiest Baby on the Block". It really worked for us-it was amazing. The baby would go from screaming crying to cozy and content in minutes.
Congratulations on your new baby!

all babies spit up - it is relatively normal, unless she is actually vomiting (it will project further out of her mouth & be the full contents of her stomach, not just a little "spit up" of milk/formula, in which case, call her pediatrician immediately). as for the cranky - she could have colic. take her in to her pediatrician if you feel that she is excessively cranky. she is just 3 weeks old, and may just be adjusting to her surroundings. definately call her pediatrician's office and they should be able to give you some advice. and, all babies like to be held a lot and rocked to sleep - wouldn't you? babies need that personal touch - don't worry about 'spoiling' her, just enjoy this time with her, it goes too fast.

I'm sure she is fine maybe being cranky will just be her personality all baby's have different personality's and as for spitting up that's normal all baby's do that's why they have spit rags you put over your shoulder when you burp the baby

OH COME ON , the baby is too small, too tiny. LET her do the things. DO NOT WORRY. it is all normal. If she won't sleep enoungh, then what shall she do? GOD keeps her busy. it is natural. As she will grow, her activities would also change as well as her sleeping timings. Just wait and enjoy her doing things. Take care... JUST TAKE ONE PRECAUTION. whenever you feed her with milk (I STRONGLY SUGGEST BREAST FEEDING), KEEP HER HEAD slightly up by putting your palm beneath her head so that her mouth is not filled with extra milk and her breathing pipe is not affected. Never Bathe Her in a tub, it can be dangerous. Always bathe her in your laps...

she may have gas and acid reflux.
discuss the spitting up with your dr. keep track of how much and how often.
as for the crankiness....make sure you are burping her LOTS and lay her flat on the floor and push her legs towards her tummy, like a bicycle kick motion, to try and get any lower gas out.
as for rocking her to sleep, she may just be a sleep fighter. my kid wasn't until about a week ago. now, he fights the heck out of sleep...the little bugger!
we love them so much, though, don't we??
take care and i hope this helps!

This indicates possible digestive discomfort. Please ensure that the baby is on breast feed only and stop any out side milk. it will cure her/him very soon. Consult doctor if condition prolongs.

Sounds like colic... ask your pediatrician what you can do to soothe her. Sometimes their tummies don't like what you're giving them and switching formula may help... but get a doctor's advice.
