me and my wife just had a baby boy, its an awesome feeling being new parents but as you other parents know it is an immense amount of work. we are having a hard time getting him to sleep through the night. he is 7 weeks old. me and my wife haven't been able to sleep next to eachother anymore because one of us ends up sleeping in his room because he gets up so much. is there anything we could do that will help? my wife doesn't like using the baby monitor because it picks up noises from radio stations and we can here vague talking, it doesn't bother me but my wife can't stand it. anyone else going through a similar time??

My 5 month grandaughter caught that virus going around causing vomiting and diarreah . Most kids kicked the virus in a 24 to 36 hour period, but she has had it off and on for a week now, and cannot seem to shake it, The doctor says there is nothing can be done for her since she is still holding some fluids and has no fever. But she cries in pain for hours on end. I tried the gas medicine for infants that Myco something. and that doesnt help either. Any successful remedies folks have tried?

My daughter is almost 1 1/2. We had a dog (no longer now) and she was quite happy and good with it.
would like to get a kitten, but i am pregnant. i know i cant go near cat feces/ litter box.
Anyone have experience or ideas?
where on earth would i even put a litter box with the toddler.
And i really cant stand alot of animal hair sticking to newborn clothes/ toys etc.
do ALL cats shed hair? i know you can brush them often to help. maybe a kitten isnt the best idea, just want some feedback please.

My nine month old has learned to stand in the crib. I don't mind that he stands, but when it's night-night time he needs to sleep. We have a regular morning routine and today it's nearly an hour off. I don't mind that it's off, but I know he has to sleep...otherwise, he gets incrediably hard to manage.

He starts off playing then doesn't know how to get down. I go and lay him back down and he starts crying.

How do I get him to stay laying down?
Do I keep going in to lay him down?

My mom says to smack his leg, but I really don't like the idea of smacking him when he's learned a new trick.

I think my mother inlaw is over feeing my child (she watches her) between 6.30 and 1.00 she has already eaten 16oz- four, 4 oz bottles. I guess that is about 8oz every 3 hours. Is this too much? I thought they would probably consume about 5 oz at this age. Please help

Is it acceptable to have a baby shower each time you have a new baby? Or is the first baby the only time a baby shower is proper? The first child is a happy and healthy baby.

My husband and I went for a hike while carrying our 2 month old girl. The whole family has chiggars-bad. I'm trying bleach baths for myself. It's been a couple of days and I'm still in agony.

My 5 month old son has Acid Reflux. When the doctor put him on the Zantac he told me I could use Gaviscon instead of the Zantac. If the Zantac did not work that they were basically the same thing just one cost less. He also said if I could find it that Gaviscon makes an infant Gaviscon. Could someone please tell me where I could purchase this at? PLEASE!!! SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!!!

Yesterday my wife had a dinner social with a bunch of her co-workers and they really wanted to meet the baby, so we took him along. What we didn't know was that there was going to be a live band performing at the restaurant. We stayed for a little while while they were warming up because it wasn't that loud, but once they started the actual performance it was extremely loud! We quickly got our check and left, but while we were waiting to pay the bill, the baby got exposed to some very loud music. Also, while we were walking out (with the way the restaurant was set up) we had to walk right by the speakers, so we got blasted by extremely loud music. It hurt my ears, much less the baby's. He was only exposed to the painfully loud music for a few seconds while we walked by, but I'm still concerned. He was obviously very scared. I wish so much we hadn't taken him there, but there's nothing we can do about it now. Is there a chance we could have permanently damaged his hearing?
