I started trying the sippie about 10 months. She really didn't take it until 13 months and still had a bottle at naptime until she was about 19 months.

I started introducing sippy cups when my girls began drinking juice. This was around 6 months. Then they would still get bottles with formula in them.

Then around 8 months I would give the girls water and their formula in sippy cups, but they still used bottles for a full 8 oz. formula.

At 12 months we had a cut off from the bottles and now only use sippy cups.

I think the easiest type of cup is what I used for my youngest. It is like a bottle but it comes with a nipple and also a soft spout. It has handles and it was super easy to transition to a real sippy cup.

My littlest one was a little over 1 I took the bottle away during the day to get her use to the cup. But a bottle at night for her to sleep if not I would have been up all night. Then one night I gave her a cup so if she wanted her drink she would have to take the cup. Try the cups with the soft spout they work really good..

I introduced the sippy cup at 6 months during "lunch time" but continued with bottles the rest of the day until my son was about 10 months, then we eliminated bottles all together and used the sippy cup exclusive.

I began my daughter on a sippy cup when she was able to hold her bottle on her own. Also, trying a cup with a straw may work to transition from bottle to normal cup because of the sucking you still have to do.

when they can hold a sippy cup take them off of the bottle (except for at night). My son was 11 months when he stopped using the bottle during the day and 16 months when he stopped using one all together. Get them off that bottle (and binky) as early as possible.

It annoys me when I see a 2 or 3 year old kid with a bottle or a binky.

All of my children were off the bottle at about the age of 7-8months. I began working with them as soon as they could hold a cup pretty good.

When my daughter was 6 months old we left her with my brother-in-law for a few hours and I pumped for her but she refused to drink out of the bottle. That's when we started her on sippy cups with handles. My son is almost 8 months old and he'll take bottles when he feels like it but he prefers nuby sippy cups.
