I believe if someone wants to give someone a baby shower for her 1st or 5th child then go for it. I had one for both of my kids but they were 6 years apart and also different genders.

It really does depend...
There was about 7 years between my first and second child and my family had one for me...
I don't honestly believe there is any hard and fast rule any more, times have changed and things are expensive, you may choose to do a shower on a smaller scale, or do a themed shower like a Diaper shower (everybody brings a package of diapers)...
It's up to you, hope this helps!

It just depends. If they are really close together (like under 2 years apart) it is generally considered inconsiderate to ask for friends and relatives to shell out for another shower...that said if someone wants to throw one for you anyway, a good way to go is a "book shower". Where people bring a book for the baby to build up the baby's book collection. It's a good way to bring everyone together to celebrate the baby without them breaking the bank a second time.

Each child is a blessing and should be celebrated. There are no rules on baby showers. If your friends and family want to give you a shower, go for it. Make sure to register for things you will really need. If you still have your crib, bassinett etc, then friends and family can focus on necessities like diapers, formula, and clothing. Congratulations!

Generally, you only have a shower for your first baby. It can be considered tacky to have a shower for a baby after your first.

Only with the first child, unless there are several years in between the first and second. Certainly not with each baby.

If someone wants to give you one, then I think it's fine. If this is you fishing around for someone to give you one - then it's tacky.
