What about a "scavenger hunt"game? If the shower is being held in a house....you could have clues that lead the "hunter" to a new gift. A clue attached to that gift could lead to another. The mommy-to-be could be the "general", if need be. She could send her "troops" to the destinations....and they could bring back their "booty" and the new clue. Mommy has to solve the clue and send out another "trooper". Etc. Be creative with the clues.
IE:
Clue 1: "The nursery is where parents think the baby will be....but so many nights you'll find yourself watching TV. Baby is up and awake as can be. Where would you find something to entertain Mommy?"
(By the TV/Entertainment Center in the hostess's house there could be a moses basket with a wrapped DVD set for mommy sitting in it. Like the Sex and The City Series **I know I watched the last two seasons when my first child was adjusting to "nighttime" sleeping.)
Attached to the fetched DVD set.....would be
Clue #2.
"You think you've got everything you need. But there are so many things that book did not heed. A delicacy has been prepared just for your child....in the scheme of the nursery it has been styled. A dessert that's not sweet....not edible at all. Find it where the other desserts are, it is standing real tall."
(In the dining room....where the shower desserts are sitting out there will be a diaper cake filled with all the things mommy and daddy usually don't get (ie: gas drops, teething gel, diaper cream, saline spray for stuffy noses, nail clippers, lavender bath for relaxing baby, a baby massage kit, etc.).
****And So On And So Forth****
Just an idea. May be silly.
By the way....I make diaper cakes!! (Is that a ruthless plug...didn't mean it to be. But I do. If you need one....check out my website!!)

You'll need a paper and pencils. You can put all types of baby things (comb, brush, diaper, bottle, onesie, etc) on a big platter, coffee table or some surface. The more stuff the better. Cover it with a sheet or towel and don't let anyone see it. When ready to play the game uncover everything and give the guest about 30 seconds to look at everything. Then have them down everything they remember in about 1 minute. The person who wrote down the most correct things wins. The Mom-to-Be gets to keep all the baby stuff from the game.
You should have as many party gifts as you have games to play.
Don't forget to take lots of pictures.

They did this at a baby shower I went to and I thought it was a great idea. Tell all the guests to bring as many diapers and wipes as they want. As many packs they bring they get a raffle ticket. get some gifts, put them in a gift bag and have the winners choose the bag they want. Its great because you don't need a gift for everyone and the guest will love the suspense!
Like if you have 30 guest buy like 15 bags or whatever the budget allows!
I also like the idea of having a baby bottle filled with candy and having a estimating contest, the closest person to guess how many m&m's (or whatever) are in the bottle wins a prise!

There are several you can play. You can do the toilet paper game where everyone tries to guess how long of a sheet they need that would fit around the prego's tummy. You can do a quiz and have people try to write down names of the kid's from different TV shows (Brady Bunch, etc.), You give everyone a clothes pin when they enter teh party and no one can say the word "baby" or if they do, whoever hears it gets their pin (at the end of the shower whoever has the most pins wins!), another twist is that everyone gets the clothes pin and is told they can't cross their legs at all during the party (not even at the ankles) and again whoever does loses their pin to whoever catches them. Take the labels off of baby food jars and number them, then see who can guess the right kind of baby food per jar, whoever guesses the most wins. Two different diaper games, 1) microwave different candy bars in the diapers and then pass them around and see who correctly guesses the different kinds 2) everyone gets a diaper when they come in, whoever gets the "dirty diaper" (usually with mustard in it) wins. The last one I can think of is, take several baby bottles, fill them with apple juice or any kind of juice, and see who can drink theirs the fastest.
Hope this helped you even a little! HAVE FUN!!

Hello there,
There are many games you can do at a baby shower. here are a few ideas.
-Rice game. Fill a bowl with white rice & add small safety pins and blindfold people one at a time, and whoever can get the most pins wins. (the trick is, its hard to decipher rice from pins) Its too funny.
-Baby Food Game ( remove all labels from baby food jars) but remember to mark and write down which jars are what type of food. Then have people smell the jars and write down what they think the type of food it is and whoever gets the most right wins.
-Dont Say Baby Game , get necklaces with either baby bottles or something to do with babies and give everyone a necklace at the beginning of the day and if you say "baby" you lose your necklace to whoever heard you say it.
-Measuring the Belly , you can use toilet paper or they have special plastic stuff you can buy. Obviously the closest to the right size wins.
-Mini Baby Ice Game, you can get small babys that you can freeze into ice trays and then hand everyone a baby frozen in the ice cube and whoever can get the baby out first wins. (any means necessary to get it out, biting, chewing, sucking)
Well I hope these help. Have a great baby shower.

1-Give everyone a plain white paper plate. Then have each person place the plate on their head and do their best job of drawing a baby. Once they have removed from their head they are not allowed to add anything to the drawing.
Have the guests write their name on the back of the
plate and then give all plates to the "mother-to-be" to judge. Best drawing of baby is winner!
2- Create a sheet of four to six actual baby pictures (from magazines, mother-to-be photo album, family albums, etc.). Make photocopies of the sheet for each guest. The guests try to create funny captions of what they think the baby is trying to say!
3-Pass out note cards and pencils to each guest, asking them to write down common baby questions such as "what do you do when a baby cries?" or "how do you get a baby to sleep through the night?" Then collect all the cards, mix them up and distribute them face down (so no one can see the questions) one to each guest. Each person write the answer to her/his initial question on the blank side of the card they received. Then when everyone has finished, take turns reading the question with the answer.

I have played the game where you try to figure out the flavor of the baby food. Also everyone gets a nametag when they arrive and that's what you have to call them until they leave. If someone calls them by their real name instead of their game name, that person that said the wrong name has to put $1 in the mother-to-be's basket. This helps collect money for the mother-to-be. You can also get a basket of cottonballs and a spoon and blindfold someone and have them try to pick up the cotton balls with the spoon and put them in the basket that someone else holds on their head. The person that gets the most cotton balls in the basket wins.

Not exactly a game but..... At my baby shower..... On the invitations, it was mentioned that if you brought a pack of diapers, not mandatory and any size, any kind, then your name would be put into a draw for a prize. The prize at my shower was a $50 gift certificate for a restaurant. It helped me out alot, as my son pooed like every hour :)

GUESS THE FLAVOR: Take the labels off the baby food jars and have every one try to guess the flavor. Dont forget to use the peas, they are kind of unappealing. GUESS THE CANDY BAR: Melt a candy bar in place it in the center of a clean open diaper. Whoever can guess the most correctly wins. Its fun to see how many people want to poke at it and smell it, Try these candy bars: Almond Joy, Take 5, Hershey's Cookies and Cream, Whatchamacalit, Kit Kat, Twix, Peppermint Patty, Mounds, Symphony with fruit, and Snickers.

Just had a shower for my niece and everyone was given a small diaper to wear (use small piece of felt or you can order game online). 2 of them had a small brown mark in them ("baby poo") and whoever had the "baby poo" won.
