My four month old daughter is waking up several times (more than 10 times ) during the night. She rubs her face a lot and the only way to confort her is the pacifier..It has been like that for the past three weeks. She sleeps in her crib. Can be that her face is itching (eczema) ? Sometimes after rubbing her face she develops a rash... But she only rubs her face when she wants to sleep... Or is a growth spurr?

My baby rubs her face when she's tired, with no ill effects. It's a soothing behavior some babies develop (others will suck their thumbs, pull on their ears, etc.) I'd talk to her pediatrician about it to rule out anything serious, but is it possible she's starting to teethe? My baby got her first two (and so far, only) teeth right before four months (early, I know), but the saliva/drooling she did while teething caused a rash. My baby will fall asleep and drool pretty much all night, so her face will get quite wet, and she sometimes gets a little rash on her chin or her cheek where her face was on the mattress. My doctor said it's nothing to be concerned about. However, make sure you rule out anything more serious by talking to her ped; they're used to new mothers calling up and asking all sorts of questions.
It could also be that she's catching on to the idea that when she wakes up, you will go in and soothe her. Around three to six months old, babies catch on to this idea. Maybe she's waking up and just doesn't know how to get back to sleep without you yet.

They rub their face when they're tired. She is probably exhausted but can't sleep. I am also suffering the four-five month up alot during the night phase. I think its teeth. Or it could just be a change in sleep patterns as she is adjusting to a new one. Last night was the first typical sleep that I've had in about a month. She used to sleep six hours, then four. Then she started aking every three for a month. The other night she was up the whole night and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Hopefully she is back to normal. I've heard from several mom's that their babies went through different sleep phases and you can try gas medicine teething stuff, but in the end they just waited it out. If you think its allergies try changing the detergent to an all natural one. I use Eco which seems to work great for my babe who does have eczema. Put some moisturizer on her face before bed (try one out during the day first to make sure it doesn't give her a rash or make it worse), funny but the one that works best for my babe is Johnson and Johnson baby moisturizer. Good luck, hope you get some rest.

My babies did this in late summer, it turned out to be allergies. Does she have a runny or stuffed up nose? It could also be the rooting reflex kicking in and she is looking for something to suck for comfort. My six month old daughter always shakes her head "no" when she's tired (the rooting reflex). Since she's waking up so much at night I would also guess that she is having trouble putting herself back to sleep. Try rubbing or patting her back instead of picking her up, or just giving the pacifier.

my daughter went through a phase were she would bump her head on the pillow until she fell asleep. My pediatrician suggested that I nestle her to my chest when it was time for her to go to sleep so that she could hear my heartbeat and within a week she'd stopped banging her head. if you think it's eczema then rub her face with nivea it works well for eczema.

Eczema patients can avoid scratchy fibers for softer ones like bamboo, cotton, or silk, which are gentler on the skin. Opting to buy organic fibers can also be a wise, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative. Learn here https://tr.im/WirlF

First, clear with your pediatrician that there are no medical problems.

Then, read the book HEALTHY SLEEP HABITS, HAPPY CHILD by Dr. Marc Weissbluth. It is a great book to teach you how to teach your child to soothe herself to sleep.
