I need to buy a convertible car seat for my five month old son who is growing out of his infant carrier. I was thinking about getting the Britax Marithon, but I'm not sure about it. I read an earlier posts that said your child might get sick of being in a car seat as they get older (when they like four or so). Would I be better off buying a Britax model that will hold my son until 40 pounds and then buying a booster seat later on? That's probably what I will do, but what do you folks think?

I know I'll get split answers here, the half of you that think I'm a bad mom for not wanting to hold my baby all day and all night, and the half of you who will say I am "spoiling" her.

But here it is anyway and I hope I get at least one good suggestion:
My little girl is 7 weeks old and cries and works herself up into a frenzy when I lay her down for a nap or at night. She isn't gassy (I can tell when she is) and will have a full belly and fresh tush and I make sure she is not too hot or cold etc. It seems that all of her needs are being met except one. She wants mommy or daddy. She will relax almost instantly and fall asleep when we pick her up and the moment you lay her down again she is screaming. I don't know what to do about it, she is a fabulous baby until she goes to sleep!! I've tried everything I can think of and I am hoping someone has a trick to suggest. Help Please!

After researching, I believe it's more healthy, economical and better for the environment. Can anyone give me some opinions on what types of cloth diapers to use and tips on easier cleaning?

Okay, when I have kids, I would like to breastfeed because it is best for the baby, but...anytime anything barely touches "that area" it is only a few more seconds of that before I...well, let's just say it feels really good. How can I beastfeed without feeling turned on? I mean, if me changing clothes feels like that, I can only imagine how it would feel. And don't let me get started on how it feels when husband does it to me. Can you just 'turn off' the extreme arousal when it's time to breatfeed or do you ignore it or do you just let it happen and not tell anyone? This has always bothered me because I really want my child to have the benefit of breastmilk, but not if it means I am orgasming at the same time. I almost don't see how that's not considered as child abuse. I'm just confused--women just don't talk about this sort of thing. Can someone please tell me what it feels like when you actually do it? I

my baby is 3 months old and has slept with me since she was born. she still wakes up around 1am and 5am . well, when she goes to spend the night at her grandmas, she sleeps the whole night through! 9-6! her grandma said maybe its b/c she sleeps by herself when shes there, so i tried putting her in her crib by herself, and she still would wake up in the middle of the night....anyways i didnt know she was doing this but she also said she puts her on her stomach....i put her on her back usually but tried putting her on stomach by herself last night and it worked! she slept 9-6? yes i already know your not supposed to b/c of sids but do babies really prefer sleeping on their stomachs? do you put yours on their stomach or back?

She previously slept through the entire night, but at around 9 months she started waking up again. I've tried feeding her extra at night to keep her full, but that hasn't helped. I've also tried putting her asleep later and even earlier, but that also hasn't helped. It seems like once she wakes up, she has problems getting comfortable again. She will roll and scoot around for about 10 minutes before finally crying out for me. If anyone has any suggestions .. please let me know!

Our daughter has been sleeping through the night consistently since 5 months. Except for the occasional cold or teething, she has been a little champ. But for the past week or so, she's been waking up every one to two hours and simply screams. We let her cry it out most of the time, but when she wakes up during the 1 am hour, she will just cry and cry. Last night she cried for half and hour till I finally couldn't stand it anymore and went it to check on her. She is teething, but the Tylenol had been working fine, so I don't really think it's teething. She has the slightest of a runny nose, but the mucus is clear and she doesn't have a fever, so I think I can rule out that she is sick. She's also extra grumpy during the day.
Help please! What could be wrong? I know she's not hungry as she refuses the bottle and her eating habits have been "normal." I say "normal" because they are normal for her.

I had my first son 3 months ago. He was due on July 2nd, but because he was growing a lot and I was small, she decided that I should be induced on the 5th. I went to the hospital at 7pm. When all the paper work was done, my doctor broke my water at 9:04 Pm. My contractions started immediately. I didn't need Pitocin. I breathed through my contractions and my doctor went home. They had to call her back almost as soon as she left because in a little over an hour I had fully dilated. I pushed for 17 minutes and delivered a 9lb 1oz baby boy at 11:04 Pm..just two hours after breaking my water. I didn't get an epidural because it went so fast. I got very very lucky with my labor. How was yours?

We need to buy a baby car seat for our baby due early next year. With so many choices, we've finally decided which brand of Carseat to purchase. We are still faced, however, with the choice between three or five points harness system. Which is better? What are some pros and cons of each option. Please answer only if you have reasonable knowledge or experience with both carseat system. Thank you.

My 2.5 month old HATES tummy time. She just lays there and cries and doesn't do anything. I have tried toys and getting down on her level, but it doesn't seem to help. She is getting behind in raising her head in a sitting position. She can hold it up when I hold her, but she doesn't raise it when she is on her tummy. She is ahead in other areas, but can't seem to get this. Any suggestions?
