Give them some baby orajel, baby tylonel or motrion, and then you can give them a cold or frozen teether toy(my daughter never liked them when they was cold or frozen) or give them a wet washcloth to chew on. Just be patient and give the baby extra loveing.

There is a wonderful product out there called the Mesh Feeder. You can freeze fruits, put it in a mesh bag and screw a cap onto it that has a handle. The baby can then chew on the fruits gaining a source of vitamins while also getting rid of the pain of teething. I really think it is unneccesary to give a young child any teething medication. Although my son wasn't a horrible teether, so maybe i'm biased. There are a few different versions out there. I'll leave a link for the one that i prefer to use. Good Luck!

I have a ten month old who is teething pretty badly right now! I comfort her when she's very fussy, and to help her gums feel better I use baby orajel, and soft rubber teethers (she has one tooth, so the water filled ones break), sometimes she likes to chew on a cool damp wash cloth (I just run cool water over it, it gets too cold in the fridge, and it will hurt her if frozen)...when she runs a fever I give her the doctor recommended dose of baby tylenol and that seems to help too as well as reduce her fever.
Teething babies can be a lot of work, good luck! :)

OraGel is a good product but beware it will make your babies gums tougher and makes it even harder for the teeth to come through, (my babies pediatrician told us) so you use it in moderation, they have teething tablets that work wonders I can't remember the name, but they are not a well known brand, you will know it when you see it in the section with the teething stuff! WORKS GREAT!!! also you can wet a wash cloth with cold water, get excess water out and let baby chew on it...mine loved it......GOOD LUCK,

This may sound weird - but...
I used frozen waffles - i would cut them in strips and give them to naw on until it started to thaw and then i would replace with a fresh new strip...
It can make a mess if you let them thaw out completely - also this is only good for children that have began to eat solids (in case they bite off a piece)
It comes with built in drool squares that catch the drool - and the cold feels good an their gums.
If you have a young baby - you can find pacifiers that resemble teething rings in function. They are filled with water and you put them in the fridge.

Invest in a teething ring. You put them in the fridge and the coolness offers temporary relief for the baby's gums. They work great. There really isn't a long-term solution because teething is just one of those things that babies have to go through. Just be sensitive to your baby's needs as he/she goes through it. Good luck!

buy a tube of ora gel for babies, or another similar product, there are lots out there, just ask your pharmacist...you can also rub a dab of benadryl on the babies gums with your finger...just a dab will numb the gums a bit...DO NOT GIVE THE BABY A DOSE OF THE BENADRYL WITHOUT CONSULTING A PHYSICIAN THOUGH.
