Newborn & Baby - October 2006

He's 11 months old and I have been trying to get him to clap his hands and wave bye bye. Do most babies do this by now? I always clap to him and show him how to do it but he doesn't seen to interested. Same with waving. I just wanted to know what age they start doing this and how to help him learn how to.

Hi! I'm breast-feeding and bottle feed!!!
My baby now is 7 weeks old..
is really hard to put him to sleep..even he just already getting full from feeding. just like after eat his eye is open wide!!!
He couldn't sleep that long even day or night..
He keep wake up every 2-3 hours at night time..
and wake up every one 1 - 1 and Half hours during the daytime.
and each time after he awake ..is really hard to put him back to sleep.
Any suggestion??? or schedule for baby? any plan?? I'm a new mom! Please help!!!'

I am pumping breast milk because my baby won't latch on since they gave him a bottle in the nursery of the hospital. I am not freezing it, just pumping and storing in the fridge. How long would you PERSONALLY keep this milk... not what is suggested but what you would comfortably still feed your baby. I have a thing about dumping it if it's about 24 hours old.

my baby has severe food allergies and has been on 4 different formulas and none seem to work...............i was wondering if there is any way i could get my breastmilk to come back since my baby is alredy six weeks old?????????????

It seems to happen because when she sleeps she tends to sweat alot, even if she's not dressed that warm. She is just a sweaty sleeper for some reason. I think also when she breast feeds lying down the milk sometimes falls down the side of her mouth and around her ears.
I gave her a bath every day and am careful to wash behind her ears but it doesn't seem to be helping.
What is something else that I can try?

My son is 8 months old. He has a thing for paper. He loves to put it in his mouth & eat it. The thing that suck is then he'll choke on it!
I only let that happen once! Now when ever i read a magazine, mail anything paper AT ALL. he gets so mad at me for not letting him have it.
Any suggestions on what I can do or give him?

I was just looking through my mom's baby book and was surprised at
some of the things my grandma use to give her! She gave her orange
juice in her bottle at 2 weeks, and she regularly gave her Karo and
cod liver oil in her bottle. And my mom use to drive down the road
nursing me!!

I am looking for finger foods that dissolve easily, like the gerber fruit & veggie puffs- but the puffs have sugar and I dont want to give my little one sugar. Is there anything else that is just as good? I think she needs something that dissolves more easily than cheerios...thanks..

I have a 10 month old and I'm debating whether or not to have her vaccinated against the flu this year. Anyone with kids have any experience w/ the flu shot and the effect on your child(ren)? I'm not against vaccinations in general but I'm not completely sure that she needs it. What do you recommend?
