My daughter started sitting up around 6 months-- she's already 10 months but still not crawling--- a lot of fellow moms in my playgroup said most of their skipped the crawling stage and went straight to pulling up and walking---- i've heard less kids go thur a crawling stage now a days because they sleep on their backs and spend less time on their tummies

My son sat on his own around 4 months, and crawled around 5 1/2.

By 6 1/2, he could pull himself up, and by 7 he could creep around, holding on to something. Now at 8 months, he thinks that if he just lets go of the coffee table, or whatever he's pulled up on, that he can just stay standing there on his own, or turn and walk away. He always looks so surprised when he lands on his bottom! I won't be surprised at all if he's walking at 9 or 10 months.

Crawling and sitting up was around four or five months. I'm talking starting to crawl (very slowly) and sit up well on his own. At about six months my son could crawl quickly and started to pull up. Now at eight months he's standing!
