That first period after the baby is usually a longer one...mine was so long I eventually called my doc to make sure it was normal. Call your OB if you are at all worried. your cycle will get back to normal however after having a baby (I am assuming it is your first) you may have a new normal. But, subsequent periods will not last as long as that first one.

before i had my son my periods were irregular and would last 7 days after i had him they became normal and now i only have it for 3-4 days. i don't know if it's the same for everybody but it could be because it's your first menstrual period after having your baby. if you feel that something is not right then go to the doctor, they can tell you for sure is it's normal or not.

It does take time for your cycle to get back to normal. You should call your doctor about the blood clots just to be safe.

Girl that first period after having a baby is pure hell. I started my period LAST thursday and I am STILL bleeding and it was VERY heavy. I went for my six weeks checkup yesterday and my doctor gave my some medicine to easy the clots and cramping. Congrats on the new one!

I know It's a pain going through this along with all you've been through, but it's a normal process for your body to go through to reguvinate, cleanse itself and to get back to normal. You should be ok by the time of your checkup with your doctor.

You can bleed for up to like 3 months. Its common just always wear a paniliner. It will go back to regular when your body is ready.

I think so. Your body is just getting back to normal. You might want to call you doctor to be sure, though.
