i am a nursing mom, i did some research and found that it is ok to drink a little bit of caffeine while you're nursing. my husband keeps making the rude comments like." i hope our son turns out ok" and i hope our son doesn't have terets or A.D.D because of all the caffeine you drink. does anyone know if this is true?

My baby is six month old and Ive always used Enfamil Gentlease and Wic has now changed their milk here to isomil advanced(a soy based type),so I saw no harm just to try one feeding with baby but just with one try ,one feeding of it has made her vomit badly. Could it be shes can tolerate soy or just a reaction to a different formula?.She doesnt have a fever thankfully, and seems fine other than this episode after that bottle but what does concerns me is that I tried giving her a little water and it made her gag.She fell asleep on a empty stomach. Im afarid when she wakes up to even give her regular formula for fear she wil gag and vomit that up aswell. Of course if it continues I will take her to the pediatricians but Im so worried.

we have a family friend that just turned 18 years old and was kicked out of her home, her father and family have disowned her completly, so they are out of the question in even talking to about this.. I HAVE tried.

I talked with her and she has her child 2 weeks old sleeping in the bed with her all night.. I have explained the dangers of this to her, and she has admited that he has rolled over more than once but she is next to him and can feel when he moves. I am so scared for the baby and suffocating in the pillows. I have talked with her and she said the baby cries if in the bassinet.

I have raised 3 kids and I know that a two week old cries if they are hungry, wet or in pain.. i am guessing the baby has gas due to the type of formula and that is why he isnt sleeping well, regardless of the problem sleeping in her bed is a danger, she doesnt understand she is barley 18 and has not much of an education.
what can i do to get though to her, I am scared for the baby.

She has three feedings a day, but doesn't seem too fond of the sippy cups I got for her. I think it may be because the spouts are too thin? How many of her feedings (or aside from feedings) should she try taking from a sippy every day? And do you have any "tried-and-true" brands of sippy cups you could let me in on that have thicker spouts? Thanks!!!

He is a terror! He gets into everything he is not supposed to. I tell him no, try to distract him but as soon as I'm done he goes right back to doing it. I will do this over and over. There is only so much child proofing you can do! And it's like he knows what he is doing is wrong but gets this smirk on his face and trys to get away with it. I don't beleive in spanking or even hitting his hand. He will grab our kitten by his tail and hang him up side down. No matter what I do he continues with this behavior! is it just a boy thing or what? he is a little terror and is already walking! What should I do to get him to stop when he does something he is not supposed to? I know he knows what no means, he probably thinks it's his name! Help!

A co-worker tried to make me feel like a bad mother for not spending the extra $$ for the name brand formula. She said "you don't know what they put in that stuff". The Target brand is FDA approved and has the same ingrediants as the name brand. I do know the texture is a little different though. Should I be ashamed for not spending the extra $$ if I'm BROKE?! I don't think so.

in science today, they were teaching us about how the X's and the Y's determine which sex the baby will be.(one X from mom and one X from dad means a girl...and one X from mom and one Y from dad means a boy) how are some babies transgendered? is it like mutation in the reproduction process of the cell? or what?

For nine months she has been saying that he is the father. He has his doubts and wants a DNA test. Now that the baby is born she refuses to take the test. He is paying for everything...all she has to do is get swabbed..then the truth will be known. She refuses, and he is left to wonder if the baby is his or not. He is ready to take responsibility if it is. That has never been an issue.

My baby has been getting a little worse at night everyday but last night was really bad. I couldn't get her to stop crying for almost 3 hours. She's also been really gassy. I had colic as a baby could she be getting the same thing? How can I help her calm down? I feel really bad since everyone in the house needs to wake up early.

i have agreed to name the 1st name of the baby after the father if it is a boy, and the middle name would then be my fathers 1st name, who passed away a few years ago so baby boys name would be Carlos John (Dads last name).
Well here is the problem, if it is a girl he wants either the 1st or middle name to be Delia (that is his moms name, she is alive & doing well). He also has another daughter that is named Delilah. My arguement is that it is too close to his other childs name to even be considered. to me it is virtually the same it is one sylable off, to me it sounds very similar, he says its not. he also says that if i am honoring a parent then he should be able to do the same, i say it is different because my father is dead, his mother is alive.
today we got into this same discussion, and he pretty much said that if i dont give the girl his moms name then regardless as to what the sex of the baby is, it wont have his last name. am i in the wrong? or is my concern reasonable?

My 9 month old son just had his fourth tooth break the gum, and he has his bottom two out all the way and the top tooth is halfway out, and I constantly hear him grinding them together loudly for the last day or so. Is this BAD? I mean, it's skin-crawlingly irritating, but I was wondering if it is actually bad for his tiny baby teeth. And is there anything I can do about it?
