It's the acid from the newly formed teeth that is cause the problems. I expect you do this already, but do try and keep your babies nappy off when you can.
Good old fashioned zince and caster oil creme works wonders for a sore bum. And so will a little cooled boiled water given between feeds. This helps to neutralise the acid in the urine.
I hope this helps and that the sore bum clears up very soon..

I don't have a clue, none off my children get the sore bum, But my little sister used too, Hers used to be that bad it used to bleed. Then we brought her some canistan (fungal and nappy rash cream). That stuff works wonders. Bit pricey about £5.00 for a small tube but it really does work.

It sounds to me like it ought to be something to do with the beginning up of teething. whilst toddlers initiate teething, the produce greater saliva and clearly this is going into their abdomen. that's somewhat acidic preferable to nappy rash and sore bottoms! you ought to attempt to diminish out the squash to make certain if this may be inflicting her a topic - you by no skill know, it ought to be disagreeing together with her slightly so its worth reducing out to make certain if it makes a distinction. As for treating the soreness, the excellent concern to do is permit clean air get to her slightly. permit her have a couple of minutes a number of cases an afternoon to basically lay and kick together with her nappy off for slightly. you may additionally attempt some vaseline on her backside as this could moisturise the floor yet will additionally supply a barrier preserving it slightly greater.

Perhaps the mum and dad are so tired having been kept awake all night by the baby crying with its hurting teeth that they take less care with the cleaning of the baby because they just need a rest.

when babies are teething, they drool a lot. this excess saliva also gets into their bowels and sometimes causes diarhea, which then causes a sore bum. poor babies.

They produce more saliva which gives them diarrhea. The diarrhea makes their bums really sore.

My kids' pediatrician said it's because they drool a lot and swallow some of their drool which for some reason that I don't really understand makes their poo more acidic and irritates their bums.

It has to do with the acid in their urine and poo. I highly recommend Metanium cream. I'm sure that zinc and castor oil cream (someone else suggested) was removed from shops not long ago for some reason, so would avoid that.

They can...their systems change just like our hormones change in pregnancy... the only time my daughter(now 24) ever had a diaper rash was when she was teething.
