I think it's pretty. It is a bit unusual and most people, I've found, will pronounce things the way they see fit (sometimes even after they've been told the correct way). My older daughter's name is Kirsten. Simple right? Not a chance. I've heard every possible mispronunciations you can imagine. Even people who have been told over and over how to pronounce it, still get it wrong.

Unfortunately, it's not going to change anytime soon. You and your daughter will probably just have to let it roll of your backs when people are being stubborn about pronouncing it wrong. Christine/ Kristen/ Christy/ Kirsten and I have learned to do the same. :-)

I absolutely love it. If I could get away with it I would mention it to my partner as a name for my baby if I have a girl. He is a bit staid when it comes to names.
Anyway, I think the problem with pronouncing your daughters name is people don't actually sound out every word we read. It's like this, we glance at something and associate it with what is familiar. ( have you ever seen that email where they misspell every word in it but because the formation of the word is familiar, you can read it just fine?)

I think its very pretty. Doesn't it mean of a ruling family? Once people know her they will get used to her name. If not tell her to correct them and say its not fallin' its Fallon. I love the name and it was a very good choice for your daughter.

Is it pronounced like talon with a long A sound? I'm not a fan of it but its your choice, when people mispronouce it all you have to do is either correct them or if it is a stranger just ignore it they may never see you again.

I love it and considered it when I was pregnant (but I had a boy) How do they pronounce it? - it seems clear to me. It's adorable- don't worry at least she won't be one of three Abby's in her class. It's original and with that comes a little inconvenience. Good job on choosing a great name!!

It's ok. It sounds like you tried to hard to find an original name. It looks like it would be pronounced 'fallin' like if you were falling down some stairs or something. I don't think it's feminine enough.

I have the same problem though...my little girl's name is my husband's middle name put together with mine: Jaylea pronounced JAYlee...no one ever gets it right.
