My daughter sleeps in my bed it hasn't been a big deal because my husband works 3rd, but when he is home on the weekend he gets frustrated and usually sleeps on the couch. My daughter's room is upstairs and mine is down, she says she's to scared to sleep upstairs, I even leave a nightlight on all night. She is always willing to try to sleep up there but she always wakes up about 6 times in the middle of the night and comes downstairs, I take her back upstairs. I'ts waring us both out. What should I do?

I babysit him every day until August 7 and he cries eveytime I put him in timeout. I put him in time out because I tell him to do something almost 3 times and he will not. When he gets out of timeout he cries and cries. He stops after he watchs tv for a 30 mintues, but when I ask him something he will begin to cry again.
I'm being the bad guy, or is he too senitive.

Sincerly Confused

Weekday afternoons. Not interested in agencies. A part-time student with an interest in children (or education) would be great!

Two months ago we moved my daughter from a daycare she’d been at since she was six weeks old to a new facility. Both her dad and I have started new jobs (my schedule hasn’t changed, but my husbands is till fluctuating-he now has weekends off, where before he was off during the week). My daughter never had a problem going to the former facility—it was hard to pin her down and get a hug from her before she ran off to be with her friends. She has gotten super-sensitive since we’ve made the switch. Every morning she cries about not wanting to go to school—sometimes before we even get in the car to take her there! She will be starting kindergarten in 2 weeks and we are concerned about another switch. She’s gotten extremely sensitive about one of us leaving as well. She had separation anxiety when she was an infant, but this is worse than that. When I leave for work and she’s home with daddy she starts to cry. When my mom leaves to go home (she lives 10 minutes away) she cries.

Seriously, he eats no fruit or veggies. He lives on peanut butter, yougart and any carb product that does not have fresh fruit in it! The doctors tell me not to worry, the grandmothers tell me to worry all the time. He will not even eat pizza, hot dogs, or mac and cheese, kid staples! I don't want to have the war of the wills, but if that is what it takes I'm ready. We eat meals together most of the time and his younger sister and I eat well , so he has good role models. ( Dad is not home for most meals, but eats anything when he is.) I could use some solid tactics. He is a smart sweet child, this is the biggest challenge we have. Thanks!

husband (who is an IT professional) disagrees. She has learned how to do code and html and even some animation this summer. However, there are other things in life. I know that there have been studies done on children sitting in front of a screen, even though she is making web-pages and it is interactive, I just can't agree with him on this one...

My cousin Abbie who is five, has speech problems. It's not the normal lisp or slight accent. She simply cannot form the letters in her mouth. She can't say the first consanent of hardly any word! She can say "oke" for coke and "ick" for milk. Also she can say Mom and Dad and boat. Is there anything that can help her? I am on a mission to find out so any sites just link them to a reply.

Could this be a sign of more changes ahead? I know she is WAY to young to shave her legs, but is it normal for them to be sooo hairy? Her legs, and thighs and they LOOK like they need shaving!

The boys were acting up and we told them for the last time to settle down. Johnathan said this to my husband. Should we tell his parents? We think it was pretty smart mouth of him.

She goes #1 in the potty and #2 in her pants. I don't know what to do. Her doctor says it is normal with some kids. I have 2 older daughters who have never had this problem. She starts Kindergarden in 3 weeks. I'm very worried about this. Anyone have any suggestions?

She really gets hysterical when she even sees them. Not normally an 'over-reactor' , but with this fear has been known to curl up in fetal position with her fingers in her ears at birthday parties if balloons are there. She says she's afraid of them popping and the loud noise.

my son has been playing with girl toys sinse he has been 2 years old. He will not play with any boy toys at all. He loves girl stuff. He goes to the girl section in the toy store and has no intrest what so ever in boy things. He plays with other boys but he wants to play girl stuff. I don't know what to do. He does not show any signs of change. I thought he would out grow this but it does not look like he will. I was wondering if it could be a condition like low male hormones or maybe born with female hormones. Someone please help. I don't know what to do. I don't want kids to tease him or make fun of him for this.
Thanks in advance

The boyfriend wants to move all to Florida. The mother is not a very stable person either. The boyfriend, 3 years ago was up on rape charges, that were reduced to home invasion with attempt. The grandparents do not want to lose the ability to be with the grandchild, but they feel this is a bad decision on the daughters side. The child is in kindergarden, and has had very rough times adjusting to whatever mom wants to do, or where they will live next. The grandparents watch her everyday while mom works.
