it's going to be ok, most everyone goes with friends. if you see the guy you like just standing around, invite him to come with your group and then you can ask him to dance. it's going to be fun... don't worry!

You're in sixth grade and like boys and have a school dance, wow. I went to my friend's house after 6th grade graduation where we talked and played games with boys but didn't even dance with them. I played with Barbies until I was almost 12. Times have changed and I'm only 28.

I think you are too young to ask a boy out...go with your friends and if you see the boy there, great, ask him to dance. Don't rush dating, you have lots of time!

Go with your friends and ask the boy if he will be there and tell him you will meet him there. That way you are not stuck their by yourself if he takes off for whatever reason. Go with friends and then you have freedom to flirt and dance with other people too.
I went through that and so did my younger sister.

Aww- the 6th grade dance. first kiss, first dance, first time grinding, first time a guy gravs u a$$, first time u spit in someones drink and laugh as they drink it.
good times. u dont need to ask a boy. just go look cute maybe stuff ur bra (jk), look cute but be sluty. it is not atractive.

you are left with two options.
1) if you go with your friends, you can dance with anyone and everyone that you want to, and you'll be free to roam the dance floor which may be less akward and more fun
2) ask the boy, and go with him. since you like him, this may be the perfect opportunity for you to start getting interested in eachother, but it could backfire and you two may feel chained to eachother for the whole night, and it may be veru akward.

dances at this age are more about having fun with your friends. just make sure to get a dance with that boy while you are there.
