My son often smells like b.o. he is 9. Been this way since he was 8. He drinks soy milk. This seems young to me for a kid to need deoderant. He is also on the smaller side for his age.

My son was physically assaulted in school, was kicked in the face and head several times, and in his stomach. He spent a total of 6 hours in the emergancy room for his injuries. The school never called me to let me know he was assaulted, there was no punishment done to the other boy, who is older and bigger. And now my son is being charged with breaching the peace. I have also been charged by the other boy's mother for threatening them over the phone. I was called by them three times while in the ER with my son and again when I got home, with them threatening to charge my son with all kinds of things if I pressed charges against her son. So I made a comment that the one charging my son should be smacked in the mouth for lying and twisting it around. I never spoke directly to the mother. It was someone else who called me and the mother was there. So I was charged with profane lang. over the phone. I had just came home from the ER and was upset. Where do I find help?

My 13yr old son told me yesterday that he would like to ask a girl out. I asked him what he meant and he said that he would like to take her to a movie or for ice cream. I mentioned that one of us(myself or my husband) would have to be there and he said that that is what his friends do....go to a movie and the parents go to a different movie.

My question is....do you think it's too young or do you think it's the norm for kids now? I understand and so does he that he's way too young for anything serious and there would be strict rules. He's a great kid(respectful, caring, honor roll) and very mature for his age.

Do you think we should make it a group thing(multiple friends) or do I allow him to go with her alone? Can I just skip to the part where he's grown??? Ha,ha!

Thanks for any help!

Okay today my little sister came home really upset and I asked her what was wrong and she told me some girls in school was making fun of her. She told me that these girls have been destroying her classwork and taking her homework so they can copy it. She's also told me they've been shoving her to the ground and she got up and started to yell things to these girls. Then she tells the Principal and the Principal gives all of them detention even though those girls started it first and has picked on her in the past. My little sister is in the 9th grade and the girls picking on her are in the same grade as me 12th grade. I go to the same school as my sister but I don't have a full day schedule. So there picking on her when I leave school and I'm really upset about this what should I do?

Okay, so I have a question about the tooth fairy. My daughter is five and my step son is 7. He's lost several teeth and his mom puts his tooth under his pillow and she takes it and leaves $. That's the way my mom did it too. That is also the was I've been doing it with my daughter. She lost her 3rd tooth just now and is in Kindergarten. If the kids loose a tooth they can bring it to school and she gives them a necklace to put it in or something. Sooo...what should I do about the tooth fairy tonight? Wait until tomorrow night maybe? What do you do?

I went to the public park today with my children ages 2, 4, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. They were running and then they had to go to the bathroom. We were 15 minutes away from the house and we would have a messy car so I had to bring them into the woods and they had to remove there stuff and go. Don't you think places like this should have bathrooms?

My son stayed in trouble at school the first few weeks. They asked that I take him to his pediatrician. He talks and moves too much. So I did. The doctor gave me forms for the teacher to fill out. I did. Today they called and asked to set up an adhd evaluation. Which I did. I don't mind him being diagnosed with this adhd stuff. However, medicating him is out of the question. He's only 6. He's sweet and loving. He is a good child but apparently not a zombie. I don't think he's abnormal for a 6 year old. Such a baby still. Can I get some advice please?

I have a friend who continually leaves her nine year old girl home alone so she can work. Her husband has a steady first shift job and she works three jobs...she's a realtor (new to the business so the pay hasn't really taken off yet and she only gets commission), another job that calls her when she needs her during the day, and she works part-time nights four days a week. I don't know how she does it, but her daughter gets left in the dust.

Anyway...there's teacher's convention today and tomorrow and her Grandma was supposed to come and get her this morning. An hour and a half later, she texts me and says that she's "really scared...Grandma isn't here yet....I hate bening home alone". I asked her if she could call her Grandma to see if she's on her way. She told me "No, Mom and Dad only have cell phones so I can't call anyone." God...what if something serious happened and she needed to dial 911?? I'm tempted to report my friend as I really feel for her daughter.

My second grader and I work constantly on his handwriting. All summer we worked on mastering writing upper and lower case print. He still occasionally gets his "b" and "d" confused, but he's made progress. His handwriting is improving, but I have been told by other parents that their kids were doing cursive.

In speaking with family who live in the UK and have a child the same age (and grade equivalent), I have been told she has been doing cursive since last year.

When is a child supposed to learn cursive? How long do I give my son to get printing letters properly before coaching him to start cursive? On one hand, I'm worried that if I push too fast without mastering printing, he'll struggle. But on the other hand, I get the impression we are really behind.

My daughter has braces and a spacer. Solid food gets caught in the spacer and she doesn't have time to get it clean when at school. She won't carry something that is cold 'cause it will either get warm and/or it will sweat water all over her backpack.

What can she carry with her that:
- doesn't need to be kept cool
- is liquid
- is healthy
- tastes okay at room temp
- that a 9th grader will drink
- suitable for a pescetarian (a vegetarian who will eat fish, eggs, dairy)
- preferably store bought or very easily prepared.

Thanks :)

I have been dating my boyfriend for a yr. now. He has an 8yr. old son who I absolutely adore. His son seems to be a little slow for his age. His obsession for food is getting out of control and is gaining alot of weight. The only thing he wants to do is watch scary movies and play video games. But, the most thing I am concerned of is this motion that he does with his hands when he seems to get overly excitied. He will take both of his hands and rub and twist them together real fast. This will only last for about 5 secs. but he will do this all the time. Can anybody please tell me if this is a disorder and can he be helped from it?

They are very lazy in class. I had one teacher come up to me and tell me that they had not picked up a pencil in three weeks. They are good looking boys and I think that they think that their looks will get them through life. They dont ever want to do anything in school, they act almost like their to cool to do anything like that. We changed their school this year to see if that would make a difference but no change I guess. One is bipolar and adhd butthe other is fine just lazy I think

Thanks

I have a 10 year old son that does EVERYTHING with the exception of sports at a very slow pace. He's the last one done eating, the last one done with homework even if he's got the least amount to do. He even walks slow! But put him on a football field, basketball court or track and he's shines....he's an excellent athlete but in every other area he just moves at a slow pace. His teacher has even asked me if that was just him. He's intelligent and has not problem with comprehending the work it just for whatever reason takes him a loooonnnggg time to get it done. Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated. And if you don't have anything nice to say do as my mother always told me -- Don't say anything at all!!!! Thanks!

I'm wanting to include this in the yearbook for the elementary school. I know I've seen a billion emails where kids answer questions with the funniest things, but can't seem to think of any myself...well, here are a couple:

What is your Mommy's job? Daddy's job?
How old is your Mommy/Daddy?
What are freckles?

Any others??? Thanks!
