My daughter has braces and a spacer. Solid food gets caught in the spacer and she doesn't have time to get it clean when at school. She won't carry something that is cold 'cause it will either get warm and/or it will sweat water all over her backpack.

What can she carry with her that:
- doesn't need to be kept cool
- is liquid
- is healthy
- tastes okay at room temp
- that a 9th grader will drink
- suitable for a pescetarian (a vegetarian who will eat fish, eggs, dairy)
- preferably store bought or very easily prepared.

Thanks :)

ever thought of slim fast.. pedisure.. or ensure... or better yet ask the school if you can stick her lunch in there fridge... then she could have carnation... or still yet she could bring a bottle with carnation or ovaltine powder in it and by some milk cartons from school... and have a refreshing lunch... poor thing

Give her a vacuum flask, that will keep the contents hot (or cold) but the outside of the flask will be at room temperature. She's being ridiculously fussy, won't carry this, won't eat that...tell her she can have hot soup in a flask, and if she doesn't like that idea, point her at the internet and tell her to do the research. You're her mum, not room service.

You should ask the dentist what is appropiate. Water is always the recommended drink. To eat healthy foods she needs a proper lunch. You could always write a note to say that she has to clean her teeths She has to make time for thesake of her teeth.

I have those little insulated bags for diaper bags for carrying bottles. You just get the gel packs and put them in the little pockets inside. I never had a problem with them sweating. Something like Slimfast, Dannon smoothies, and a soft fruit like a banana.

All of those foods above are not appropriate for a child to eat on a regular basis (except for the yougurt drink). Baby food would be healthier.
