Adolescent - September 2007

My period was suppose to start 3 weeks ago but didnt. I have had cramps all month like im going to start but nothing happens. I was stressed but it was only for about a week. Could that have delayed my period for this long? Or should i be worried about pregnancy?

I am 12 and I live with my adopted mom, who looked after me since I was 8, she is 29.
I am not allowed to watch r rated movies.

I have to go to bed at 8:30.

My mom lets me shower or bathe my self but after im done she comes and slathers like 100 pumps of lotion on me herself to make my skin smooth and checks to see if my hair is washed.

she wont let me play M rated games and she does not let me go over 4 blocks without her.


Is my mom a little overprotective or is this normal for her to do?
I told her if i can have my privacy and if i can go outside but she said its my job as a mom to do these things.

what do you guys think?

I know this sounds funny. It is not a joke. She just complained to me about how flat she is tonight. She is 5'7, 130lbs, 38b. I have expressed to her that she is not done growing. I don't know what else to say to her other than that and to be patient. I told her that she can't compare herself to other girls because everyone is different.
I guess I am asking the mom's out there that have teen daughters, would you say the same? How else would you have handled this?
Serious answers please, I don't have time for stupid answers.

I am 15 and 5'1 i have been this height since nearly 2 years now. I know that the avergge growing person grows 2 inches a year. Well since i was about ten i kept a growing chart and i have only grown 2 inches each year for the past 5 years. I have started my period and everything, but i don't know when will get my grow spurt. My mom says i'm about done growing, but i'm not really sure? what do you think?

Well im 15 & i was born & raised in New York but my dad got a better job offer so we moved to a TINY town in Texas. I HATE IT HERE! I dont mean to sound rude but i hate Texas! I want to go back home to New York i miss EVERYTHING about it- the people, the diversty, the night-life,just everything. I only have like one friend here in Texas :(. How can i make the most of Texas until i can go back home to New York when im 18?

okay i asked this except only few people answered.
1. when i was little i used to have asthma but everone said i grew out of it.
2. in gym one time i had to run two minutes which used to not be a problem but when i was done i couldnt breathe i almost blanked out it hurt bad and i didnt tell the coaches, 6 or so months ago.
3. this year we have to run four laps in gym but after the first lap im out of breathe and i try to breath in threw my nose and out threw my mouth but its hard when your running.
4.im know as class clown and have chocked on my own spit but i found that when i ran i was chocking not for being a dingdong but so i could breathe. but i keep claiming that i was being stupid
5 they said i grew out of it when i was two but im 14 now and im having these problems.

so with all these said do i have asthma again?? if so what do i do??

This question has nothing to do with me but I just answered a question about what we would do if we found out our 13 year olds were having sex and three people said they would be proud if it was their son and angry if it was their daughter! I think that's one of the stupidest things in the world!

Parents like that obviously do not know how to do math if they think that girls can get pregnant because it takes two people(male and female) to make a baby. So boys can get girls pregnant too.

And I think parents like that are also hypocritical because they let their son do those things with girls and it's like, how do you think the parents of the girl feels? The same way you feel about your daughter doing those things.

What do you think?

I am 17 and pregnant. I am due Septemeber 28th. I am very uncomfertable now-a-days and my doctor said the baby is ready to come at any second. I want to have this child now. i'm done being pregnant.. I am giving this child up for adoption. but, anyways, I have a doctors apt the 21st of sept. so I guess that's tomorrow. Can I just ask them if there is anything to enduce labor, or can I just ask them to take it out? I tried walking, running, stairs, and sex.. all it does is cause pain and lots of wetness.. but no labor!! any ideas.. please don't say ask a doctor . i want to ask on here before running to the doctor. so I dont sound stupid asking them to take this kid out!

My 11 year old son has been getting into trouble with his teacher as he is trying to be a messer as not to get bullied, and whenever the teachers back is turned and someone makes a noise he gets the blame, he tries telling the teacher it wasnt him but teacher just says I dont want to hear your excuses, in the yard kids are pushing him and calling him small boy. He is really sad about this and said he wishes he was dead. I want to go and talk to the head but he doesnt want me to as he said they will all call him a rat and make matters worse, I said I would speak to the kids involved but he doesnt want me to do this either, what can I do to help him? I am really worried and want to make things better for him.

After school the other day, my 11 year old daughter and I immediately went to a local YMCA to swim. As we changed into our swimsuits I noticed she was not wearing underwear. I was alarmed by this and asked her why. She said that she was just in a big rush in the morning, very tired, and just forgot to put them on. I accepted her answer and told her that she needs to wear underwear when out in public, but I am concerned that these troubled celebrity girls (Lindsay Lohan, Brittney Spears, and Paris Hilton) are somehow making it "cool" to just flash your private parts around. It is a big fear that this somehow is "trendy" and I don't want to even imagine that this is happening on the schoolbus or elsewear. When young girls are making themselves look prepubescent "down there" as a fashion, it is just concerning that girls may also think showing their vaginas is a way to "be cool" and get attention. Please tell me this is not going on.

I have a 14 year old step son, meal times.. he doesn't eat.. he gorges.
Typical.. I expected it for a teenage boy.
However...me and his father spent over $340 on groceries just for the 3 of us..and I bought certain thing's for myself, just odd thing's.. certain foods that I like..we specifically told him not to go near my thing's.. and he does.
We kept telling him not to.. and he does.. I dont know what to do.. after being told not to go near it.. it all adds up, and I can't afford to keep buying these items just for him to have when there is his own space aside just for him, and he has his own money to do whatever he wants... how do I go about this.. I dont want to put everything under 'lock and key' but I'm seriously considering it :S

I am 16, in my final year of high school, and going onto college next year. I live a fair way out of the city, i have to travel for a long time every day to get to and from school. Most of my friends live in the city or close to it, so it makes it very hard to go out to parties and stuff because of the lack of buses in my area. One of my friends who also lives out of town said he wanted to get an apartment and a part time job in town and asked me if i wanted to be room mates with him. My only problem is my parents. they are kind of overprotective and I'm going to have to think of the best way to ask them about it and have some really good arguments ready to back it up, because they will say we cant trust you by yourself, etc. But the thing is, im not a little kid anymore, and they CAN trust me by myself, they just don't realize it yet. I would still come home on weekends, unless there was a party or something on... which most of the time there would be, but yeah. any advice on this??

she was hard 2 deal w/ before she preg. and now that shes preg shes harder 2 deal w/. Her words "I can't be 15, have a baby and still be told what 2 do, because I'm going 2 b a mom u have 2 let go". It makes me so mad because she always wants 2 b in control of everything even if she knows shes wrong, she has 2 have the last word. She also wants 2 move out, my heart says NO! That I need 2 keep her at hm. Then I think that maybe I should let her fall on her face and let her see that she does need mine & Erics/Dad help. please im going to see a doc.fri but im asking what i think it might be
symtoms:
1)headache for 5 days went away but still kinda there
2)neck pain stiff neck never goes away
3)jerking and twitching..not noticable to other people..gets worse when i am still
4)pins and needles every now and then in arms and legs
5)joint pain in knees ankles and elbows
6)hands and feet constantly cold
7)fever for 2 weeks 99.7
8)very very tired
9)shaking

this all started 2 weeks ago im very worried on what it might be..also im 15

My boyfriend of 4 months has really been talking about sex lately. I'm 14 and he's 16. He started asking me if I'd have sex with him why I dont want to go any further with him (we've kissed and madeout) i told him i'm not ready and he made a joke out of it. i told him i want to wait till i'm ready and i really love the guy. he's had sex once before and he keeps talking about it to. he keeps making provacative comments about me to like i'm so f*cking hot that i'd be so f*cking sexy naked...it makes me really uncomfortable. he said he wont pressure me but by saying that stuff i feel like he has. he finally said w/e when your ready your ready just let me know when that time comes. i do love him but i'm worried he only wants me for sex. am i wrong to wait? am i being to sensitive about this?

My son's first birthday is on Thanksgiving this year and am trying to figure out what to do. Of course we will celebrate it on Thanksgiving (have a cake & sing & presents from Mom& Dad), but I am wondering if we should have our family "party" then too, because everyone will be there, or should I just wait until that Saturday and celebrate it twice? Is so annoying. I am in 7th grade, yet when I'm in her class I feel like I'm in 1st grade. It's SO annoying! She always gives us these packets to do in class and then she sits on her butt and does nothing. If she's not on the computer, she's ridiculing how all our work is wrong - even though most of the time I'm right and had down EXACTLY what she said. I have 2 really good examples...

1) Today we had a huge test that took up all day (DRA), so while it was study center, they gave us the choice to go outside. My friends were at the choir room getting some Info. when they made this announcment. I went up to my math teacher and said "Uh, I know my friends will want to go outside, so can you tell them when they get back?" and she said yes, so I told her their names. Anyways, when they got their she wouldn't let them come outside!!!! She completely lied to me and then called my one friend a lier when she went to the bathroom a few minutes after asking to go outside. I don't get it!

is in 7th grade this year and has always been a good girl. This year, it seems that alot of her friends are being allowed to date and my rules don't allow this until she's 16. Alot of these girls have been her friends since she was in kinder and she is very close to them.
The problem I having is she is starting to lie to me about things and become very defensive and even cry when I ask her questions about her friends. I don't want to be a total butt and change schools on her, but if the behavior keeps up, I may have to use that alternative. I know this type of thing is in every school, and it wouldn't absolutely solve the problem, but I just can't sit around and watch her slip away. 12 years old is too damned young to be dating! I stand by that with every bone in my body. I can not and will not compromise the rules of our home to make her happy. How would you handle this?

It is possible for a janitor or a teacher to find it, but the contents were pretty valuable. Such as an iPod mini, lots of makeup (lip gloss, powder, ect.), tons of pencils, erasers, pencil grips, and so on. It wasn't a cheap purse either. I'm so sad. My parents aren't too upset, and they just say "let this be a lesson to you". But I loved everything in that purse!!!


Any tips for me on finding it???


I already told the office exactally what it looks like, and the contents, and the teachers are aware.


Please post any experiences YOU have had with missing items, and anything else that could be of help.
