Bacterial meningitis symptoms may develop within hours. Viral meningitis symptoms may also develop quickly or over several days.
Here are more common signs and symptoms of both types. Not all symptoms may appear or appear in the same order. Fever, headache, and neck stiffness are the hallmark symptoms of meningitis.

Sudden high fever
Severe, persistent headache
Neck stiffness and pain that makes it difficult to touch your chin to your chest
Nausea and vomiting, sometimes along with diarrhea
Confusion and disorientation (acting “goofy”)
Drowsiness or sluggishness
Eye pain or sensitivity to bright light
Muscle or joint pain or weakness
Other Potential Signs and Symptoms of Meningitis
These are other possible signs and symptoms of meningitis:

Abnormal skin color
Stomach cramps
Ice-cold hands and feet
Dizziness
Reddish or brownish skin rash or purple spots
Numbness and tingling
Seizures

If a red rash appears along with fever, check to see if the rash disappears when a glass is pressed against it. If it does not, this could be a sign of blood infection -- a medical emergency. Call 911 without delay. Other symptoms that might require emergency treatment include loss of consciousness, seizures, muscle weakness, or sudden severe dementia.

Take your butt to the doc pronto!!!!!!!!!

Mononucleosis is probably it if you have been sick for this long, or it could be a rare strain of viral meningitis too. I had viral meningitis my freshman year and it was miserable, but I wasnt shaking/twitching like you keep describing. I'm no doctor, but if you feel really really tired, then I thinks that it is mono, and you should get on mdicine quickly because it takes a long time to recover

Your fever would be higher, and you would probably be dead by now..Seriously! The headache is the worst you can imagine! It really sounds like the flu...

Oh, or it could be Mono..Look that one up and see if it matches.

99.7 is not fever. fever is anything over 100 degrees. its not meningitis, more likely growing pains or mono. or the flu

im no doc, but i think with meningitis it attacks the brain and you can die within hours. you've been sick for so long, i hope that's not it!

You would know by now if it was. You'd be dead. More likely mono. Good luck.

tell your parents to take you to the doctor ASAP! Why haven't you said something to them sooner?
