Depending on the age of consent in your area, no she can not. You are most likely of legal age in your area as very few states have it set at eighteen.
Do NOT listen to any answer that is telling you "OMG NO PEDO HE NEEDS TO DIE AND ROT IN JAIL!1!111" I find it oddly immature, especially when it is comming out of the mouth of someone who is supposedly representing themselves as mature.
You are very likely legal, and I wish you both the best of luck.

No, age of consent is 16 so technically you would have to yell rape for them to do anything but that doesn't mean your mom couldn't try. There is suppose to be no more than 3 years between you and the other person so being 17 he would need to be no older than 20 but I know courts around here don't do anything unless the 17 year old yells rape or the guy is extremly older (by like 10 years). Now if you were 15 or younger they could get him easy for rape and make him a registered sex offender. How long do you have until your 18?

It really depends on the legal age of consent where you live, and even so, she can take it to court, but because you're so close to 18, he still might not be behind bars.
Does she know about him at least? That's how old my boyfriend (now husband) was when I was 17, and I thought my mother would flip out, but she got to know he was a really nice guy, and it went over well. Granted.... he did not get me pregnant, until we were married and trying for a family.

It is your choice whether or not to have this baby. You could consider adoption or abortion of you feel that you're not ready for a child. If I ever become pregnant, I plan on having an abortion. My husband agrees. As for being arrested, each state has very specific laws regarding what age you can "consent" to sex. In my state it was 16, which seems to be the most common. You can anonymously call your local police station and ask.

If you live in a state where the law says you can date within four years of age, then it's fine, she can't do anything. If you plan on keeping the baby then you and your boyfriend need to sit down and talk with your mom about the choices you've made and are going to make. If you're close to 18 he can't get arrested. Find out what the age of consent is, in my state [Ohio] it's 16 but if the guy is more than four years older than me, it's illegal.

Even if your mother CAN have your bf charged with something, what difference will that make to you? That is the question you have to answer.
If it means you have to go through your situation alone, then you know you need your mother's support and help.
If it means you and your bf will be together, you will still need your mother.
Waiting to talk with her can only limit your options.
Tell her immediately, because even if you wait you will have to tell her sooner or later, and it will not be hard for her to figure things out from there.
In the meanwhile, the answerer who said that having your bf charged will only make it hard for him to get a good job and support you is quite right.
When you tell your mum, do it calmly and respectfully, let her know you have made a mistake and need her help, but that you don't want to put your bf in a position where, if you decide to continue the pregnancy, he cannot be of help to the child in the future.
Good luck and best wishes :-)

Depends on which state :Each state sets an "age of consent," which is the minimum age someone must be to have sex. People below this age are considered children and cannot legally agree to have sex. In other words, even if the child or teenager says yes, the law says no.
In most states, the age of consent is 16 or 18. In some states, the age of consent varies according to the age difference between the participants. Generally, "I thought she was 18" is not considered a legal excuse — it's up to you to make sure your partner is old enough to legally take part.

I don't think so, generally, the age of consent is 15 or 16. I urge you to tell your mom sooner than later because bad news doesn't get better with time, and you need to get prenatal care as soon as possible to take care of yourself and the baby.
Understand that your mom will be angry and disappointed because she probably thinks that you made a mistake that will ruin your life, so be prepared for that. Now that you know that you're pregnant, start making plans for your future and your baby's future. Don't let this one episode in your life keep you for achieving your dreams.
Also, visit a Crisis Pregnancy Center. They will give you free information about pregnancy and your baby, and probably give you free baby clothes, baby stuff, and maternity clothes.
Good luck

Yes, she can have him arrested, because you compared to him are a minor. It all depends how you take the situation. Tell your mother you strongly liked (or maybe love, if you really do) this guy, so you decided to have sex. Tell her he did not force you to do anything. Have you told your boyfriend you're pregnant? What are you going to do with the baby? Explain everything to your mom in a calm manner, and tell her your sorry for not being careful enough, and you're not afraid to admit that you're scared. Good luck!

It depends on where you live. Google legal age of consent. There are quite a few web sites there that give you the age of consent by country and all the states are listed under the United States. Best of luck to you. P.S. If you don't know the legal age of consent is how old you have to be to have consensual sex with someone.

#1 more than likely you are more than old enough to consent. At 17 you are a young woman and not a child. The state will be more interested in going after him for support. Your mother also needs to consider that this is the father of her grandson like it or not.
