Adolescent - February 2007

My step daughter is really silent all the time. She is 13. She has not once been disrespectful to me or my daughter but she never looks me or my husband in the face. When we talk at the dinner table she just looks down at her food and doesn't say a word to either of us. She talks to her siblings regularly but doesn't say much to her half sister. When we are all involved in a conversation in the car she is in her own little world. She doesn't say much to us but she does what she is told and stuff. She never EVER is rude or disobeys. She doesn't speak unless spoken to. And has very few friends and isn't trying to make any. She always seperates herself from the crowd unless with her siblings or her boyfriend she locks the door to her room so I cannot be in I do not want to be nosy and search it but I am becoming more and more worried about her. I have tried bonding with her but she always goes off by herself.

My period has been acting funky. It comes every month when it should. im 15 I got it when I was 13. The first day of my cycle, is usually full on normal bleeding like any other day of my cycle. I got it yesterday and I only spotted. Today I have had full on bleeding, and I've been used 3 pads already today. I'm bleeding pretty heavy. I've been stressed out for a few weeks. Im a virgin so Im not pregnant or miscarrying or anything. Can stress make me bleed more heavy then usual? I got hit in the stomach hard with a soccer ball this morning too. Could that make me bleed heavier?

Me and my girlfriend have started to have sex. we have always used a condom and been really careful about what we do.

this month, she is 4 days late for her period. its undescribable and i dont really know what to do. We have always been careful and never head a spilt of spilled or anything like that.

She has missed her period by up to 2 weeks before, however she is concerned and she sais "things dont feel right down there", even though she seems to be in the PMT mood.

any advice?

I recently got kicked out my house by my parents and moved down to London to be with my dads cousin. Since then I really feel I've become a member of this family and my two younger cousins are like my little brother and sister. The only problem is I've never been a big sister before, and as naturally as this is coming to me I'm paranoid I'll do something wrong and that'll effect them both. So now that I have a job I want to take the whole family out to give my dads cousin a break from cooking etc. Does anyone know anywhere I could take them for a day out at the weekend in surrey that would amuse a 12 year old, a 14 year old and a fun loving , christ i dont know how old she is. She's been like a little sister to me all these years and everyone is comming down on her. Her parents kicked her out and she's been at my place the past few days. I have no problems with her staying here except my place is really small (batchelor apartment). But that's not the biggest problem as you can guess. She really wants to talk to her parents and I told her I'd go with her for support but she's really scared. Would it be ok if I talked to them first? She can stay with me as long as she needs to but things need to be worked out with her parents. What should we do?

Hi, I am 13. I have a younger sister who is 11 yrs. I have already started puberty but she hasn't. She is saying that her breast buds are killing her most of the time. Either she rolls over on the couch, or she bumps into something. I didn't have theese signs when I started puberty. She has had some discharge for about 5-7 months I guess. my friend just got into hospital and she´ll have appendix surgery. I don´t know anything about it so plz, has anyone had that and can tell me what it was like? I have no idea what to do... I mean ... ughh. My boyfriend is like amazinggg. But he goes to parties a loot and everything. I love him dearly. But he smokes and drinks a loot. I have to metion that I am 14 and he is 15. Okay.. I love him. But all of a sudden he hung out with this guy named Eric and he gets him to go to parties and drink and toke up. But that just isnt me I get embrassed when people come up to me and tell me how stupid my boyfriend was acting at a party. I like another guy that is straight egde (which means he doesnt do drugs or have sex..etc.) What should I do I love my boyfriend but he is just out of control and that other guy I dont have to worry about him cheating or anything like that.

I'm 15, one of my best friends is going through a bad phase. She's messing up, going out with bad crowds, I know for several times she drank. I think she's in danger, I talked with her but she doesn't listen to me, says she wants to enjoy life while she can. I don't what to do. She has a bro, but he's 12 and I don't think talking to him would be a good idea. The problem is my friend's parents are kinda harsh, so if I talk with them I'm afraid of what they can do do her. Actually, one reason I think she messes up is her parents are so strict that she wants some freedom. But she's going to far. I can talk with my parents, but I don't see what they can do but talking to her parents, and thi I don't want. So, I dont know how to help her. That's the problem with harsh parents, when their kids messes up you can't count on them, becaus instead of loving parents they will act like the chieg of a concentration camp.

Okay, I will be 14 on July 3rd. I am sick of not having money and not being independent and not having the money to get that really cute shirt I want at the mall. lol. I live in Ohio so 14 year olds can get a job permit but the hours they are allowed to work are very limited.
1. How do I get my job permit?
2. What kind of jobs will hire me? And how will I get them to hire me as a 14 year old?
*Include anything I need to know to get a part-time job starting in probably August or September.

I took my g/f to the superbowl. She decided she was going to root for the colts.(we live in barrington IL) I am a bears fan, so I sorta ignored her. She kept talking about which players she thought were hot. Then she started flirting with this guy.
Was I wrong to ignore my g/f?? Should I be mad that she was innocently flirting?? Can't girls watch a sport and not talk about which players are hot??

My 15 yr old son is the oldest in our family including older then ALL his cousins.. so whenever we have company over what he does is come downstairs says hi 2 every1 and then goes up 2 his room and either reads a book, studys, go on msn or play niintendo wii. and wont be seen untill dinner time... Another thing that i am also worried about is that today he has 2 chose grade 11 courses 4 next yr so yesterday when i suggested him asking his father 2 c which courses his father wants him 2 take he quickily replied no and said he Knows wat 2 take and wont ask his father anythig so please help me what can i do 4 him and whatt on earth is wrong with him
