I love my son so much and Im worried, latley he has been lying to me about anything and everything, he is also acting very absent minded like if you ask him a question hell answer it with something that has nothing to do with what you have asked. He acts like he doesnt know how to do anything I ask him and his hygene is bad and Ive taught him better. What is going on with him and what can I do? I swear sometimes my 6 year old son acts older then he does. Im very concerned any suggestions?

What do you expect a teenager to pay for out of their own pocket? make-up,hair products,highlights,movies or just the necessities. We are wanting to be fair but not taken advantage of. thanks for responding.

This past year, my son has wanted to spend every weekend at his best friend's house. Its getting so my husband and I rarely can do any activities with him. My husband used to take him fishing all summer long, but now my son has lost interest in that too. I know this is probably all normal, but how do I make my husband feel better about it? He is taking it personally.

Also, I've quit making my son go to church with my daughter and I (hubby doesn't go) because I am tired of fighting with him about it. Is that wrong? I used to have this rule that he couldn't spend the night somewhere on Saturday, because of church Sunday morning, but that just made him resentful. He hates to go to church. So does my husband.

Serious Q for once (A rarity for me i know) My nieces friend is apparently getting her belly button pierced for her 12th birthday?????? Surely this cant be right? I'm sure that not only will it look awful on a child but that its also illegal, am i right?

I dont like my name, actually I HATE it. I cant stand it cause people call me names nowhere close to my name or I get called by my mothers name. I am tired of geting called Ashley (no where near my name!) , Lauren (nowhere near my name!) , Jasmine (Take away the first last add one take away the 'e') , Yasamataz! (HATE IT EVEN MORE!) , Yazzy, and more. I go by a different name, I really want to like my name. Is there a porblem with this?

I'm looking for a Christmas present for my 15 year old step-sister. She is a really sweet girl and I would like to get her something nice. But I have no clue what is popular with 15 year old girls right now.

She already has a cell phone and i-pod. She is in to sports and plays soccer, but I'm not sure I want to go that route. Any suggestions?

I have a 12 yo daughter that started wearing bras a month ago. She doesn't like it that much, but I thought it was time for her to get started. She resisted a bit, but no big problem, she's a very good girl and I treat her with much love. She promised me she won't disobey and will try to get used to her bras. But sometimes she tries some tricks: She doesn't disobey or make fusses, but sometimes she "forgets" to put her bra on. Then, she gets close to me so that I can see she's braless and maybe let it pass. When I tell her she's braless, she says Oh I forgot. And I make her put it on.
Another trick is resisting learning how to put her bras on. She says it's kinda hard and says I gota help her. Well, I do, but this can't go forever.
Of course, those are childish things and I don't see any big problem, but I'd like opinions on how to handle this situation.

My mom is kinda cool, a great mom. She's a modern woman, a byologist. She strongly encourages me and my 11 yo sister to go to college in the future and become independent women. But in some points she's kinda traditional, so she's a bit overprotective, but I know ot's out of love. Though she's graduated she thinks some of the tradional female roles should be preserved, so, in addition to what modern girsl do, like playing sports, etc, we had to learn a bit about sewing and cooking. When we do our chores at home we have to wear those tradional frilly pinafores with a bowl in the back. She got me and my sister some of them and loves to see us wearing them. Sometimes we have to keep them on even when we're having dinner or lunch or doing anything else. I get embarrassed, but to mom this kinda important. When we're not doing chores, we're not exactly forced to wear them, but we end up keeping them on just to make her happy, cause she asks w/ love .What should I do?

I am so overwhelmed by the backtallking, and being so lazy with chores, getting up in a bad mood, "nothing good to eat", everyday, I feel like all I do is argue with him and ***** at him to do his chores, the same thing everyday.

Here's a story...
This guy I know is my best friend.
I love him.
He loves me.
Of course, the nice story doesn't end there. I'm only 14- my parents said I could date this specific guy when I was 15. (Just cause he's really a great guy- my parents agree and have met him several times)That happens in 5 months. The problem is that I'm not sure my parents will really let us "date" when I'm 15. (I think that includes being able to go to movies without my brother inbetween, holding hands, kissing sometimes (not constantly)... Occasional dinner...etc.) Is that too much to ask at this age? The guy is 16, super respectful, and has shown it by his patience... He's already been waiting to be able to date me for about a year and 2 months. I've known him for like a year and a half. What do you think is appropriate? (A little about me: I'm 14- But don't let numbers fool you- I'm Sophmore in Algebra 2, top of my class. I'm extremely mature and have so far have a good relationship with my parents.)

My daughter is 15 and she is pregnant. She wont tell me who got her pregnant, but she does want to keep her child. She also wants to move out of the household and wants nothing to do with me or her whole family. so i was with my boyfriend and we didn't have sex because im only 15...but we did do what most other teens do...fool around. right after he left my house i starting thinking about what we did and i remembered that after he came...all he did was quickly wipe his hands off and then fingered me. im really worried now that i will get pregnent. i don't really keep track of my period..lol lazy i kno..so i dont kno if im missing it? everyone keeps telling me its so rare to get pregnant that way but im still really nervous and so is he. we both are totally not the type to have sex and get pregnant. my parents are SO uptight. thats the other thing.....i would seriously rather run away then tell them. but i dont want to leave all my friends and family behind! but i couldnt possibly stay if i ended up being pregnant.....ugh im SO worried. we didn't even have sex! it was so innocent.....lol welll for being a teenager at least.

well here's the story things wearnt going good at home there was abuse going on i just couldnt take it cps was involved several times but they didn't do anything to help me becuase my parents would deny so i took it upon myself to find away out . so a cupple weeks went by and i ranaway with my boyfriend this time my mom never filied a runaway report and barley answers my call's its been almost 5 months since i have been home. my mom wont let me see or talk to my brother and sister my mom is not trying to help me out at all im 3 months pregnant and shes is denying me prenatal care she wont giv me my birth certificate or my soical so im basicly stuck! my mom wants me to giv my baby up but no way that is going to happen im going to kepp my baby, when i talked to my mom she said the only way i could come home was no more of my bf & its just messed up its his baby me and him are living toghter right now & we have been togther over a year i just want everything to be worked out i need my mom
