Adolescent - November 2006

A 16 yr. old boy is dating a 15 yr. old girl who tells everyone that her parents are drug users and her dad sexually abused her , etc., etc., etc. There is more drama in this girls life . Sometimes she seems to be saying all these things to get attention. She has stated that Family Services have come to investigate many times. She just was in youth court. Very rebel attitude. What would you do as the parent of the 16 yr. old boy?

We have tried several different kinds of discipline. Restriction, extra chores, taking things away, but nothing seems to work. As he gets closer to being a teenager I worry that it will lead to other things.

why is it that time after time when grown folks including your parents tell you not to have sex you f/m go out and do it anyways the get on here and ask total strangers about sex like can i be pregnant after one time? how do i konw if he/she likes me? what will it take for all of you to understand that AIDS is for real? aids is even in girls with big butts guys who stayes geared up etc......why not take the kid time out to be a kid and learn how to LOVE yourself? how many of you know about GOD? how many scriptures in the bible do you know? why arent you living the way GOD wants you to live? why are you not treating your bodies as temples? why have babies for your parents to raise? how long do you really think this teenage love will last before on of you desides to sleep around? what do you think your so call mate does when you dont give him/her some sex upon request?

Is it just me? Are other parents on here freakin' out over the teenage sex going on in this world today? I have seen so many questions about sex and teens,why do you young ppl wanna have sex and you don't even know about your own body yet?And why isn't someone talking to you about self love and self respect?If you don't think you can wait,ok, then what about condoms to protect you from diseases, or other birth control to prevent you from having a baby you don't want, or a baby your parents don't wanna raise?For both sides guys lie to get what they want(sex), girls lie too for love they are trying to find from stupid guys.What is going to happen when you get pregnant?,THE guy will walk. And the teenagers don't think about premature babies that die every year becuase young woman's bodies are not ready for carrying a baby. IF YOU can't talk to your parents,get the correct sex education from books,internet,etc.,,,,,,,BUT first of all love your self first,You are the only one that will!

Here's a story...

This guy I know is my best friend.

I love him.

He loves me.

Of course, the story doesn't end there.

I'm only 14- my parents said I could date this specific guy when I was 15. That happens in 5 months.

The problem is that I'm not sure my parents will really let us "date" when I'm 15. (movies without my brother inbetween, holding hands, kissing sometimes... going places alone... etc.)

Is that to much to ask?

The guy is 16, super respectful, and has already been waiting for about a year and 2 months. I've known him for like a year and a half.

What do you think is appropriate?

she has been a runaway since june and her boyfriend is 17 and has been in alot of trouble with the police. my daughter has issues with lying all the time, she will argue about anything. she was abusing to my other 2 kids, ages 4 and 6, and she made reports to child protective services that my husband of 12 years was abusing her. being that middle class girl even though im like in an upper class. well i go to a school where most people are not very wealthy and they all think that wealthy people are stuck up and no goods. but i dont want to be known like that cuz im not like that, so i act as though i am not rich. my outfits are casual and boring and i hate it. im tired of pretending that i can't afford certain things. i want to invite ppl over to my real house and not some apartment my parents rented for me and my older sister to use for parties. i want to be able to show up in a limo to school again and stuff. how do u think ppl would feel if i all of a sudden tell them that im really an upper classer?

My friend is a few years younger than me, and she's going through puberty. She "says" she doesn't want to grow up and get boobs, but I know her enough that she does. She told me at a party all her friends wear a bra, and she doesn't. She wants one, but won't "tell" Her mom says when she's ready...should I just get her one so she can feel more comfortable?

I had'nt seen or talked to my dad in twenty years. Now I found him and he wrote me a letter telling me that when I was young he tried to see me but my mom would'nt allow it. Then he just sort of gave up but never stopped loving and thinking about us. He also told me I have a half sister that is 12. I told my mom and she flipped out. She said that he has'nt done anything for us all these years and that to talk to him now would be disrespecting her. I told her that I had a sister, and she said you have no sister i'm your mom and your dad and I don't see why he would even tell you that. The girls parents bring him home in the morning after the party! Is this OK nowadays? I am in shock. The family who hosted the party live in a well to do area of town, drive nice cars and apparently this was a party with alot of teenage guests. I had no idea- since Dad or the son did not tell me the full story until the next day. I would never allowed an overnight stay with co-ed guests for teens- in my opinion this is asking for trouble. What do you all think? Am I being a stick in the mud- or am I being reasonable?

well im a big airsoft player and well i bought a mini aeg(automated eletric gun) by crossman and the gun broke i was using the wrong kind of beads 12grams instead of 14grams and well the gun broke and now my dad is dead set agianst me getting another gun i still have a pistol but it cants stand up to aegs any help would be apreciated on how i can convince my dad about me buying another gun

Ok at my school all these people talk about how they ditch and go to the mall. I don't I go to the bathroom or walk around in another grades hall. I know their parents dont pick them up.
