A 16 yr. old boy is dating a 15 yr. old girl who tells everyone that her parents are drug users and her dad sexually abused her , etc., etc., etc. There is more drama in this girls life . Sometimes she seems to be saying all these things to get attention. She has stated that Family Services have come to investigate many times. She just was in youth court. Very rebel attitude. What would you do as the parent of the 16 yr. old boy?

A 16 year old boy is dating a girl like that because her behaviors are attention seeking and she is probably very easy. In general, a girl like that needs help and is looking for it in the form of a boyfreind. If it was my son, I'd tell him that even though she may make him feel good, it's for all the wrong reasons. I'd tell him to hang out with girls, and boys, who respect themselves because these are the type of people who will be fun and problem free, and most likely to last as freinds. I would also tell him that sometimes girls like this try to trap a man into a relationship by lying about birth control, and that she is probably not faithful. I wouldnt forbid the ralationship because that would make it seem more desireable but i would definatly try to help him see that she needs help and is a wounded soul. And he's better than that.

Well, tell the boy if all this rumors are true. DNA test will tell if she has been abused.
These days u cant make accusations and there not be a backup.
Kids say anything these days, they need the warnin on lie-detectivive test and dna test that really reveals the truth.

Make an anonymous call to social services just to be on the safe side.

why does he think it's acceptable to be involved with a young lady (or anyone else for that matter) who is headed for a obvious, terrible end? talk to him about where he sees himself headed in life & how she fits into this. maybe he needs to speak with the folks of one of her ex's and see what kind of drama she brought them.
