Should a teen who is punished by his dad often with the belt or looking in or out in the backyard report his dad or would be any other way to make him change ?

Oh this is such a heartbreaking and hard one to answer. You need to talk to someone about this and not take what strangers have to say as the answer of what to do. You can listen to our opinions but that is just what they are opinions. Maybe you could go and speak to your school counselor or a hot line but don't give any names while talking to the school counselor because they will call child protective services and the teenager can be taken away from his parents. Not sure if this is you your talking about or a friend or neighbor. Hopefully someone can talk to the dad and find out why he is so angry and maybe take some anger management classes. This can be a life changing ordeal and I will pray that all will be taken care of. Please talk to a professional about this situation and let us know on here what had happened and what the decision is that you had made.

Well, depending on how often he does this and how brutally, you really should report him. He most likely has psychiatric problems. If he is alcoholic or a drug addict, that could be the problem, but if there is a mental problem, it may not be his fault. never the less, you should report him because you are most likely in danger. The father in this situation needs help to change if it is even possible. Tell the police or call 911.

UMM.. I know 2 things to do.
1.)Yes you should report it... this has no reason to be beat, even if he did something wrong. He should get yelled at and get grounded. He shouldn't be beat!!! Its the wrong thing his kid is going to hate him now for it and there relationship isn't going to be strong!!!
2.) You should ask the teenager, if he wants out, then report it.
Either way you should report it because that teenager is geting beat. Also he may try to hurt his dad.
