Sorry, but you're being a brat! It's great that you have big dreams of being a lawyer, but you still need to learn the basics. Do you really want someone doing all your work for you?? That seems pretty pathetic. And life is TOTALLY different from what you see on tv!! And what are you gonna do before you become a lawyer? Because you will be in school for many years. Are you going to use paper plates or will you be paying someone to do your dishes while you're going to school? Because you will be paying a whole lot in student loans.

Do you know how to do your own laundry? You might want to learn a few things before you make it in the world on your own. And besides, doing dishes isn't that complicated of a chore. You put soap on the sponge or dishrag, scrub the dishes, then rinse them!! It's really not hard, I don't have a dishwasher so I have to do all the dishes by myself!!

And it's not texter, it's TEXTURE!!! Sorry, but if you're going to be a lawyer, you might need to know how to spell simple words.

Brat, 100% brat. Do you feel that you are too good to help clean up after yourself? Do you think you will be a six figure lawyer over night? How about all the time at college and law school? You are made of better stuff than all of that. Show two things. The first is respect for your mother. That will help when you are a young lawyer and the partners are giving you all the hard work. Second, show that you have character and really believe that when all is boiled away that you are no better than anyone else.

BRAT! All the children in my family have known how to wash dishes correctly (and well) since they were five years old. It's perfectly fine that you want to be a lawyer. It's fine that you want to be so rich you can have maids that do all of that type of thing! (Or at least a dishwasher) But, the unfortunate truth is, that probably won't happen. Sure, lawyers do get a very good income most of the time, but they don't all make enough money to have servants.

You should help your mother when she asks, it is the kind thing to do.

P.S, the lawyers on Law and Order aren't very realistic.

You are a little disrespecting brat with bad spelling!

Your mom pays the bills, puts food on the table and probably provides you with all of the latest fashion accessories....and yet you can't do a 10-minute chore?

Being a lawyer is tough work! You spend 7 years at college school...so if you think doing this dishes is hard..you won't last a minute in law school!

Its good that you want to be a lawyer and become successful, but you gotta learn to do things like dishes. I know they suck, but if you go to school full time, going to college and then law school will take at least 7 years. And youll be washing a lot of dishes for yourself in that time, and then you might get hired on somewhere at first that doesnt pay you well enough to hire someone to do dishes.
And FYI, the lawyers on Law and Order have a way more dramatic life than real lawyers

Until you are out of your mother's house you need to shut up and respect the rules of her house, which includes washing the dishes that you ate from. She feeds you, provides you with a home, and keeps you safe from the cruelty of the real world and no doubt buys you all of those " I JUST GOTTA HAVE IT!!" pieces of crap that all kids scream about. When you ARE older AND finish college and EARN your respect and money you can boss people around, until then give your mom a kiss, say that you're sorry for being an insufferable brat and do the stupid dishes. Oh and by the way, lawyers know how to write a simple paragraph, you might want to work on that too.

Sorry, but it does sound bratty. Its part of your job as a kid to help out around the house. If that requires doing dishes, then do them! I've been doing the dishes in my house since I was 7! Its probably the easiest job in the house to do. So just do it!

Being a lawyer also takes a lot of hard work. To be rich and successful means a long and rigorous career. Not all lawyers make it, either. If you want to learn the work ethics to achieve your goal, good grades and washing the dishes is the right place to start!

Being a lawyer is a good goal to have. You got the argument down. Just have to remember some things warrent a battle and others warrent a negotiation.

Being under your parent's roof, eating their food they bought, eating off their dishes they bought, I think not helping out is not a good idea.

Becoming a lawyer just to be rich person for others to do your own responsibilities is not realistic.

If don't like washing the dishes, invest in dishwasher. Until then, be respectful as she most likely will be the one to help you get into law school....as it is extremely expensive. Plus, you are under her roof. It is only the respect you would wish to receive in your own home one day, right?

Ask everyone to rinse their dishes so that you don't have to touch food on it.

Also, buy some dish gloves. Therefore, you don't have to get your hands wet nor food on them.

Everyone can have there dreams for the future and work towards them becoming real but you also need to know the basics in life.Who is going to wash your dishes, laundry etc. and clean your house while you are trying to become rich??
Also when you hire someone to do the "stupid" stuff I hope you don't treat them like dirt because that's what it sounds like.Certain people are not suppose to be beneath you just because they are doing a job that doesn't take a lot of education.
Where would this world be without janitors in our schools, office buildings etc. and that includes the one you are dreaming of?Think of no one picking up the garbage from homes everyday. These jobs are just as important as what you want to become.
Yes my dear go for your dreams but please don't be another snob about it.

BOTH!! You need to learn to wash dishes,do the laundry, cook and some other mundane chores around the house.
If you go to college and law school, you will have to do most of the chores yourself. Then after graduation, you will need to do all the chores until you become a rich lawyer and can hire someone to do the chores for you. It also might teach you to have so respect for the people who clean up after you.
Other than that your just being normal.
