In state of California, minors (17 and under) can receive body piercings with parental permission.
I got mine done for my 16th birthday. It rejected. I got mine re-done for my 17th birthday. It rejected. My mom took me both times as I begged her for years on end.
However, when I got my second one, a friend did her's along with her 13 year old cousin, who had to have a signed form from her parents (as her aunt was present as her mom couldn't due to work).
The piercing shop has the right to refuse under the age of 14. He made an accept-ion for the 13 year old cousin.
It is not illegal if permitted by the guardian of the Minor.
I don't think a 12 year old should have such a piercing. However, we are not the parent to decide that.

I think its about 18 without parent consent and 16 with parent consent- but I suppose its down to the discretion of the piercer and if they are prepared to pierce 12 year old girls with or without parental concent- I think its wrong personally, I know I wanted it all done at 13/14 but I had to wait and Im glad I did now otherwise I prob woulda ended up with something I didnt like!

My cousin first got hers when she was 14. I got mine when I was 15. However I think 12 is WAY too young to get it done. She should at least be a teen. And I think it is illegal. Most places wont do it if your under 18. And if you are they will do it with parental consent, but nromally its the age of 14.. and some places I know wont even do it if your under 16, even if you have parental consent.

What's all the fuss about? Some people have their children's ears pierced when they are 3 months old. I got my belly button pierced when I was 17 and 12 years later I still love it! She can always take it out if she gets fed up of it.

You have to be 18 in order to get a body piercing without a parent. Some body piercing shops do have age limits even with parents, but most just require that anyone under 18 has to have a parent or guardian with them in order to get pierced.

In most states it's sixteen if a parent is with you, eighteen without parental consent.
I'm really not sure about a twelve year old. Depends on the establishment; and of course, she'd have to have parental consent.

I'm sorry but you can get it peirced at some places that young. But you have to have a parent present but in your neices friends case it dosen't matter. I personaly think that those kinds of peircings are gross. Although you have to think that it is a whole lot safer to get it done by a professional. Some girls that age will just go off and have one of their friends do it for them which is a TERRIBLE thing to do.

I think it should be sixteen at least then she can take the pain that comes with being pierced. But first I would start with ears alone just to see if she could handle the pain. I never had anything pierced b/c with like shots I imagine it's incredubly painful.
