I have a older male sibling and father. I used to be a tomboy. Don't shave or wax down there. In the future that will look really werid to us gals. I myself weren't go out with a guy who shaved/waxed down there. Just do what bearded men do and groom it that way.

Being female i can only answer from a female perspective. When i did use to shave it was great for the first day, until the regrowth started. The hairs came back quickly and darkened and became thick, dry and icky!. Then came the ingrown hairs. Shaving is the best thing to do if you want ingrown hairs, and believe me they CAN be painful. I have used Veet and many other cream hair removal products and they can burn and irritate the skin. I would recommend waxing the area. Even though waxing may be painful, the results are a lot better. The hair does not grow back so quickly, so it does not need to be done no were near as often as shaving. The chances of ingrown hairs are unlikely, and the hair does grow back soft. The pain from waxing does get easier the more often you do it. The skin builds up a tolerance to it.

Hope this helps.

The question you ask is somewhat in depth.

Here are a few things to consider-- why do you want to shave down there in the first place? Do you really need to do this?

If you answer yes to the above questions, then you need to decide whether or not to remove it all off completely or whether to trim it back. To trim the hair means that while you do cut it, you do not totally remove it, similar to when you get a haircut. To remove it all means just that, you will have no hair down there.

Many guys trim their pubic region. They do this either with scissors or with an electric razor. With scissors one must be very careful for obvious reasons. On the other hand, to use an electric razor requires that you purchase a beard trimmer or such. You need to use an electrical razor that has adjustable lengths, which is usually not the case with normal electrical razors that some men use to regularly shave their face.

To completely remove the hair down there, you can once again use an electrical razor or you can wax. To use an electrical razor you would use its shortest length, which might mean not attaching any length adjuster. In the very least this method will shave your hair so close that it will look like you have no hair in your pubic region. Shaving this close can result in irritation and when the hair grows back it might itch. Wax, however, is a nasty thing to use. Some use wax on their eyebrows to tame wild growth. This usually means going to a salon, where they will use a special type of melted wax, put it on the specific region that you want waxed, and then yank the dried wax off. Prolonged use of waxing has actually stopped hair growth in the waxed area of some people. Due to the sensitivity of the pubic region, I would caution against using wax.

Good luck with making your decision.

Wax hurts more. Veet can work, you just need to be ready to stand around for 10 minutes while the veet works. Shaving is another option. Any way you go, the hair will itch when it grows back in. So just be careful and don't use veet if your skin is broken down there.

Noooooooooooooooo! Don't use Veet or Wax. Go to the drug store and buy a shaving wand for 10 dollars and use that. It will cause no irritation but you will have to shave often to keep down the stubble. But don't use over the counter products such as Veet or Nair, they are not good for sensitive areas.

Don't use wax, I will hear you screaming from here!

You are better off shaving, use a shaving foam or gel, and warm water. You are probably better off doing it while you are in the shower. Maybe use a little moisturiser after you've finished. There's no reason why you can't shave, but be aware you will probably have to do it all the time. the regrowth will be coarse. If you do continue to shave, do it about once a week, if you do it too often you will get razor's rash.

good luck!

paul, WHY do you want to shave down there anyway? I dont think veet or wax is a good idea for down there on a boy. I wouldnt suggest shaving either. I think you should TRIM the hair with scissors, that way it stays short and neat, and you wont have the hassel of ingrown hairs and rashes and the pain of waxing etc.

Don't shave. Not unless you really want to, but it's not neccessary at your age. Do you have some skin rash or is your hair getting caught in your zipper? If not, wait! The stubs will irritate you more and then wait until your hair starts growing back! You'll start scratching like you got something!

I think it is best if your pubic hairs are waxed. When it is waxed, the skin is much smoother and the hairs does not grow back as fast. But yes, it is true that when you shave around your private area, it increases your chances of getting stubs.

veet is good, when hair grows back it is soft unlike when shaving. Be careful don't get any on your penis it will burn and follow the directions don't leave it on longer than directions say.
