I have a close friend from highschool and his wife was recently pregnant. (I have never met his wife, but have added her as a friend on myspace.) At any rate, I text messaged my friend about two weeks ago and asked him if they had the baby. He told his wife was scheduled to have a c-section the very next day, and I asked him to call me when the baby was born. He never did, so two days later I text messaged him and asked "Is he as beautiful as we expected him to be? what did you name him? how is the health of your wife and baby?" He wrote back telling me they were fine. I checked his wife's myspace a few days later and saw pics. She wrote saying that the baby was born and that he wasn't doing too well and that he will be having surgery soon. I hadn't heard anything in a week so I checked again today and found out that their baby did not make it. I want to give them my condolences. How do I do that? Also do any of you have a bible verse or quote I can use when I write them?

Just a question for you to think about. If you were born and now you are 13. And your birthday was lets say january 10, 1993. Doesn't matter if it doens't make sense.
But yeah. lol.
So what if your family adopts a kid, who has the same exact birthday and year of birth. So is basically a twin of you.
But could you actually be called a twin considering the exact same birth details.

It would be awsome to say you had all the same birth information. And they go ohhh TWINS?! and you say no. ahha

I just took a digital test and it reads not pregnant but when I took out the test strip there was one dark blue line and 1 faint blue line. Does that mean I am pregnant but hcg levels are too low? I hope I am what do you think?

My husband and I have 3 boys ages 12,10 and 3 months. We were supposed to go to NC (all of us) today and stay there through the new year for vacation. Well, my husband got called into work, so now last minute we cant go. The older boys were disappointed (we live in FL and they wanted some cold weather) so anyways, now we are just going to St Augustine for the weekend and just staying 1 night. (We live 3 hrs away from there) At first, I was thinking maybe the baby could stay with my mom because we are going to be going on a lot of tours and ghost tours at night...but the more I think of it, I dont know if I can leave him! Ive never left him before, we always do things as a family. What do you think and when did you first leave your baby for the 1st time? thanks :)

Ya know, the days when ya just don't feel like doing a thing? The thought of draggin your lazy rear to the shower seems like climbing a Mountain or doing the dishes or even turning the washing machine knob on? And just before your significant other comes home, ya run around a pick up the bare minimum so you don't look like a total slob? Just curious, as I'm in one! Want to know if I'm alone?

I mean some people really want twins or more. But do you think its right?

I know this adult guy friend who likes spending time with this girl.
She doesn't like her real Dad and he's basically M.I.A. in her life.
Her Mom knows this guy and seems to trust him in her life.
Sometimes he will take her shopping, to a movie or just simple fun stuff a girl her age likes.
She enjoys spending time with him because he always spoils her.
Since it's a small town, I just don't want others to talk and think something wierd is going on with the two.
I would hate to see either one of them to get a bad reputation.
Some will think the worst since they know she is not her daughter.
Do you think there is anything to really be concerned with there?

My friend hits, spanks and yells at her 5-year-old (among other equally bad disciplinary techniques), trying to deal with a child who's continually angry, throws massive temper tantrums and is out of control most of the time, both at home and at school. Unbelievably, this parent thinks she's dealing with a bad child. She can't see that she's set up this vicious circle herself with her poor parenting skills and the child is only reacting in kind.

My problem is, as a non-parent, I have no credibility to point out her lack of parenting skills or even suggest she get help for herself first and I'd certainly get no thanks for telling her what's perfectly plain to see from an outsider's point of view!

I feel badly for the poor child who's caught in this trap with a parent who hasn't a clue, but I also feel sorry for my friend that her great hopes for motherhood are being lost in a daily battle of her own ignorant creation.

Any wisdom here would be greatly appreciated.

- Sharon.

I know I'll get terribly flamed for even asking this.

Okay, I know people think I should have adopted in America through foster care, and I have counter arguments for that, but I've made them all before.

But my question really is this...since so many adoptees are upset that they were "stolen from their birthparents", wouldn't the type of adoption I did be preferable??? After all, all the children adopted in China have already been relinquished by their birthfamilies, long before their adoptive families ever came along. The decision was already made. It had nothing to do with who adopted them, or even if ANYONE adopted them.

The choice in China isn't a life with your birth family or a life with an adoptive family. It's a choice between life in an orphanage or life with an adoptive family.

Isn't there a contradiction in first complaining children are being "stolen" and then complaining that people aren't adopting in the U.S.?

Okay, I'm ready for all the flames.

Our two and a half year old son refuses to at his meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) because he'd rather play. When we sit down as a family he doesn't want to sit and eat, just play. If we talk to him he just says "no". Then if we pick him up and sit him down he cries and sees eating as a punishment. The times he does eat is when we leave a plate of food in the play area and he picks at it while playing and even then he doesn't eat much. He has no favorites for us to cook and the only thing he prefers is his orange juice. How can we get him to eat at the table with us without "forcing" him to eat with us?

Ok, I'm sure you've all heard this kind of thing before, but there's this boy, Alex, who I really like, and who I flirt with over MSN, and he flirts back, so I think he might like me too. I have been planning to ask him to go bowling or something soon, but just tonight I found out the following

1. He found out that this other girl used to like him, and he didn't really let her live it down. I don't want that to happen to me if the feelings aren't mutual

2. He says he thinks it's stupid to have a girlfriend at this age. (13/14)

I don't know if I should still go through with asking him because of the possible repercussions.

Also, Do you think there's anything I could do to make him like me, and maybe consider having me as a girlfriend if he doesn't already?

Thank you sooooo much!

I have been a commited relationship now for 8 and half years. We recently got engaged in June and I found out 2 days ago that I was pregnant. I dont know what to do since this was not planned, actually it is the complete oppsite. We were going to me moving to another country in a month and start a bussiness. He feels that we should abort do to that reason and that he is not ready to be a father. I feel that everything happens for a reason and I want to have this child I also told myself that I wont get an abortion unless it was medically nessacary. I am also very worried that not matter if I choice to have the child or not that our relationship will never be the same. I am afriad that if I go through with an abortion that I am going to hate him and that if I dont and we dont move he is going to hate me. We have also been given the option of me moving in with my mom and him still moving to start the company. We both want kids its just that we werent planning on it being now. Any advise?

Okay my LMP started 12/04 which would have made ovulation around the 19th of this month. We baby danced everyday since the 18th of this month! I have been having a few symptoms which I thought nothing of until he said... "I have had this feeling for the last few days that you're pregnant". So to sum it all up these are the few syptoms I do have: sore nipples (not too bad but definitely noticable, sore breasts period, slight crampling like AF is coming, lower back pains, light headedness, extremely exhausted, I feel like there is a belt around my waist and someone is pulling on it to cause my hips are a little achey as well. Please tell me what y'all think. AF is due around the 2nd or 3rd. How soon could I test or do you think these sound like AF coming????

For those of you who planned your pregnancy, how soon did you expect to conceive, and how long did it actually take? I'm trying to be quite specific with the month I hope to conceive in and I'm wondering if I do everything right and nail down my ovulation date, etc, etc, how good my chances will be. I'm allowin myself a 3 month window period. Am I being totally unrealistic? Reasons are for planning around work, finances, etc. Thanks would appreciate your feedback!
