I don't know if I should still go through with asking him because of the possible repercussions.

Okey ive had this problem also(btw im 13),all i learned from it is that it gives u problems in friendships.You cant force a boy to like you.Its mainly his only choice if he does.If Alex said that its stupid to be in a relationship at this age then dont force him into it bc its gonna hurt for both.Just tell him that u like him and u were hoping there could be more.Say that i dont want to hurt our friendship by us getting closer.If you would like or are ready we can give it a try.
