my daughter is just shy of 5 months. she starts her day waking up around 8:30 or 9 yes that would be great but i do have a 4 yr old that gets up around 6:30am so i have to get up. i am breast feeding just to let you know. she takes her little 15 to 30 min cat nap around 11 and then at 2 and then at 5pm. and then she goes to sleep with a fight around 10:30 11pm. i know i should not let her take that nap at 5 but like i said it is a short one but she needs it because she is so tired and cranky i don't even know how to keep her up. she is attached to the boob and won't take a nap or go to sleep at night without it. when she is ready for bed she wants me to lay with her. and crys if i put her in the crib. i can not let her cry because like i said i have a four year old and they share a room. she is up 4 to 5 times in the night. the only way she will go back to sleep is if she has the boob. there is no point of putting her back in her crib because i just get up all the time.

Hello! I am 8 weeks 5 days pregnant and since I took my first positive HPT, I have been taking about 1 a week (it feels so good to see that strong red positive line!) I was planning on taking 1 a week until I see my baby in the ultrasound this coming week.
The problem: all of my previous HPTs have shown a very strong test line (usually darker than the control line). But today the test line is light-- much lighter than usual. I did not use my 1st morning urine (but I didn't in all of the previous ones). I am of course kind of worried (I also had some very very slight brownish spotting/discharge last week- Dr. said it was probably Ok).
Has this happened to any of you? What is the reason for it? Is my baby OK?

She eats 6-6oz bottles with 3 tablespoons of rice in each bottle every day. I don't know if she should eat rice/oatmeal/babyfood twice or three times a day. Do I just offer it , and see if she wants it?

Our daughter is 6 months old. We do not plan to mislead or lie to her and tell her Santa Claus is real. It's ok with me if she wants to pretend that there is a Santa, Easter Bunny, Sponge Bob, etc. But why would i tell her lies and make her think a fat man in a red suit brings presents that her mother and i actually buy?

Are you parents out there being cautious about what you buy? Are you finding it hard to find toys made in America?
Or are you just buying the same ol' lead filled crap from Wal-Mart?

What would you let a 4 year old watch on TV. Some people say Disney Channel, but I think that the shows are for older kids. I need some advice on this topic. Also my daughter will be 5 the end of January.

My husband and I are not sure what is appropriate and what's not. We don't want to seem greedy but want to give people options. I already had one person comment that we have too many items on our registry which made me feel kind of bad. We have 156 items on it, is that too many? What is the average amount?

I think my daughter had acid reflux. Everytime she eats she spits up a little and then crys hysterically. I'm taking her to the Dr on monday but I was wondering from parents who have children with the same problem how the Dr diagnoses this.

My name is Molly-Sue and I have a husband named Chris. We have 4 children, Claire who is 6, Brent who is 4, Sasha who is 2, and I just had Ryan who is 2 months old. I am now starting to feel sick again in the morning, I am tired more often than I usually am, and I am starting to eat a lot more. Could I be pregnant again? I mean Ryan is just 2 months, is it possible?

I lost my temper today and slapped him. He cries non-stop over everything that doesnt go his way, we were baking cookies together last night and I told him to go wash his hands before we start, but he couldnt get his sleeves rolled up, so he proceeds to throw a huge tantrum, today I took him and my son to a playground, and another kid got a ball he wanted to play with (not his ball) and he started screaming and crying, throwing stuff, yelling, etc. I dont know what to do, I hate that kid, he truly believes the world revolved around him and him only. I make a rule, he goes behind my back to get his dad to break it, w/out saying he already spoke to me about it. Every mealtime, every outing turns into a nightmare because he throws a fit. This is going to break up our marriage. Dad takes his side and defends him, all I want is peace and for that kid to stop being a baby. He is in trouble at school all the time.

My boyfriend is 18 and my parents really dont like him. Their taking him to court for statutory rape and are trying to prevent me from seeing him in any way. I just want to know what my rights are for myself and my child. They say it is their decision because they are paying for my medical care.Is it up to them if my boyfriend sees myself and the baby and is in the delivery room or is this up to me?

New step son, never had a father figure before in his life until now. Trying to teach him manors as well as doing what he is told. He is becoming very rude and back talking when he doesn't like what we tell him, or he doesn't get his way.

Why has is all of a sudden become the practice to clamp the cord immediately after birth, rather than wait for it to quit pulsating?

My feeling on this, is that by doing so you are robbing the baby of half of it's blood, which has been squeezed back in to the placenta when the baby passed through the birth canal.

Why are they not waiting until the cord stops pulsating so that the blood from the placenta can return to the baby??? Has the mindset changed to you think the placenta is robbing the baby of blood??? Or is there an ulterior motive here, about getting that cord blood for research purposes???

I just witnessed a baby almost die on Discovery health because they clamped the cord immediately after birth, harvested a pint, A PINT, of blood from the cord, and the baby went in to respiratory distress. I think they robbed that baby of his blood, and if they would have waited to clamp the cord, and allowed the blood to go back in to the baby, he would have been fine.

my little boy is 3 weeks tomorrow and he is already guzzling down 5 ozs at each feed, i breast feed, bottle feed breast milk and give him formula (SMA gold).

is it right for him to want so much, he is sometimes only going 2 1/2 hours between feeds and if he had a 5 oz bottle he will follow this 2 hours later with a 4 oz or at least just over 3 ozs.

i did try the SMA white but found it made him a little constipated after just 1 bottle.

has anyone else had similar situation?

if so what did you do?

thanks
