Pregnancy & Parenting - 15 December 2007

My 15 year old daughter is open and honest with me....today she shared with me that she smoked pot once..apparently a few weeks ago...
I want her to continue to be honest with me but at the same time I have to do something about this before it becomes a habit.
I want to talk to her of course but I also want to keep her from the house she was at where she smoked the pot.. but at the same time I want to keep communications open..
Any suggestions?

My friend has a five year old daughter. Trust me, it's not myself, I don't fancy children enough to babysit, let alone have my own. This child was recently kicked out of her school for being violent with the other children too many times, including an incident in which she broke a magnifying glass and chased another child with the broken glass pieces. The other night, she told me she likes to hurt herself because it feels good...followed by punching herself in the head. Her parents both ground her and tell her it's wrong, but they've done nothing to prevent anything from happening. She is only five years old and at that age most children don't experiencing hurting themselves for fun, or admit to doing it because it feels good. There is nothing that I can do to help, other than my many attempts to try and get the parents to have her see a psychiatrist. Until they help her, is there anything I can do, as a friend, to help prevent such violence in a child?

no, this is not happening to any1 i know, i just want to see if ppl think the same that i do..i think that if my husband or any1 as hurting my baby i would kill...with a smile on my face making it lonnnnnnng and painfull, how would you react to that?

What are the VISIBLE differences in ultrasound pictures of a fetus that's 10w3d and one that is 15w5d?? Are there big differences??? At ten weeks doesn't the baby just look like a little gummy bear bouncing around with litttle buds for arms and legs and a 15 week old fetus nearly completely visibly formed? Aren't you able to determine the sex near to 15 weeks??? Thank you soooo much in advance for taking the time to answer my question, it's really important!!!

Well My 7 Yr. Old Nephew Loves Saving His Money To Buy Games And What Not. And I Was Saving My Money Up For A Mall Trip That I Was Going On With My School, And I Need Atleast $50. I Had $4 In My Pocketbook, and My Dad And I Went To Pick Up A Pizza And When I Came Back My $4 Was Gone. I Asked Him About It And He Just Said He Didnt Have It, We Argued For About 10 Min. Before My Sister And Younger Nephew Said They Both Saw Him Take It And Put It In His Green Wallet. Of Course He Kept On Denying It. Well My Dad Told Him That If He Wanted To Lie About It Fine, Because God Could See Everything And That He Would Get Punished By God. Well I Guess He Started Feeling Consious Because After Everyone Settled Down, He Followed Me Upstairs And Said "Hey TT I Did Take It..." And I Said "Okay Bub, I Guess You Can Keep It Because I Really Just Want You To Tell The Truth" Was I Right To Let Him Keep It? I Mean I Felt Really Bad For Yelling At Him. I Really Needed The Money But I Feel Better.

Hey, my son is 5 going on 6 in March, and he is getting worse as the months go on. He never had terrible twos, it started around 3, and I swear, he is sooo bad. He doesn't listen, he screams, gets mad easily, throws things. He likes to try to be in control, I guess, and when he's not, WOW, watch out. And before anyone says anything, it's not me. I have two girls who are older than him, and they acted nothing like this. I have tried spanking, positive reinforcment, rewards when he IS good, time outs, talking.....I can't figure it out. I think if things don't start looking up soon, I'm involving his Doctor.

if they are caught with even a tiny bit of marijuana?

What do you think about this? You should be concerned because many children will at least try it. Can you imagine your child not being able to get federal aid for college if they need it only because they were caught with pot?

ok well last weekend i babysitted for 6 hours and 3 kids and only got $10.00! im 13 and yep............. for 1 kid 6 hours is
$1.66 then divide it by 3 and woopde doo 55 cents per kid per hour lol yep i have babysitted for them for aong time and tonight i babysit again and mymom is getting sick and tired of me only getting 10 dollars they have money just an ordinary family i babysit for all 3 of them again one is 2 one is 6 one is 10 and its from 6 til 2 a.m. so how do i ask for a raise (at the begining she gave me 20 dolars for like 4 hours and 5 dollars for 30 minutes so why now ?) Ok well i allways start my pieriod on the 26th and it last for 5days. Last month in november i started the 30th so that would put me ovulateing around the 11th-15th! My partner and i had sex three times on the 12th of this month december.He came in me all three times, and we cept going till he was done!!! Mkkk i am not on any fourm of birth control. well this morning i think i had morning sickness! hmm strange i dont know i work at a cafe on the weekands and i felt like i was gunna puke the hole mornin and that never happens! ok i went to bed late last night at 11, and i was able to sleep till 4 this morning and then my body woke me up and im not sure why. i tried everything to get back to bed, i tried laying on my back,sides and legs over a pillow(nothing worked). iam 27 weeks pregnant and i havnt had any of this problems till this morning. i ended up getting back to sleep at 6:30am. can any one help me out on this one? i thought it was weird.

Please let me know of anything you reccomend I could get him that would help. He does well on his spelling tests and is able to write sentences but when it comes to reading he struggles. I practice with him everynight and use flashcards as well.

He hates it so much that everytime he is swaddled, he screams bloody murder until we at least let one arm loose. He ususally uses that arm to lay either over his head or straight up like he's stretching. I am deathly afraid of SIDS. What can I do to get him swaddled without that discomfort that he feels. I know its more important to swaddle than to worry about his discomfort but we have tried to let him cry it out, and it literally can go on for hours. Please HELP!!!!

mark has a 7 yr old son that he has joint custody who he is totally detacated to. He gets such joy from being with his son its all he can talk about. We are to be married next mon. and looking at houses to buy and I happened to just say something about a nursery and he just ignored me. Later he said to me he hoped I would not try and push him into having a child and if I wanted one it would be a deal breaker. I was in shock as he loves his son so much and wants to be with him 100% I guess i just thought he would what one with me too. When i asked why all he gave me was excuses nothing that made any sence. Now his child was planned not an accedent and was the only reason that keep his marrige going as long as it did. 1st marrige. So can anyone tell me why he would be so against having a child with me when he loves his 1st child so much?

my baby is 3 weeks old she wont sleep in either only in the bed with us. When I lay her in the crib she always wakes up soon and I cant get stuff done. She has a bouncer she falls asleep in it but wakes up shortly after has anyone else had this happen what helps??

My 15yr old friend is soo obsessed with "emo" (I really don't care what you call it music genre etc.) and she really wanted the glasses. She has had perfect sight until recently and now her mom is taking her to the eye doctor to get her eyes checked could she be tricking her body to lose sight or is she just faking?

my son is 7 weeks old and hates to be put down. i have tried two different types of chairs, a moses basket, tried to swaddle him and tried a play mat but still no joy. A dummy helps for a while, i have no problem with holding him all day in fact its lovely but i am worried the more i do the more clingy he will get. He is also in bed with us as he just scream and sceams in his moses basket. Has anyone else had this and do they grow out of it or has holding a baby all day made problem in the long run.
