What are the VISIBLE differences in ultrasound pictures of a fetus that's 10w3d and one that is 15w5d?? Are there big differences??? At ten weeks doesn't the baby just look like a little gummy bear bouncing around with litttle buds for arms and legs and a 15 week old fetus nearly completely visibly formed? Aren't you able to determine the sex near to 15 weeks??? Thank you soooo much in advance for taking the time to answer my question, it's really important!!!

You are correct.... I know from experience. At the 10wk u/s it would be a gummy bear.... I had a u/s at 9wks and he was definately a cute little gummy bear.At 13wk u/s I was able to see head, feet, legs, arms, hands but wasn't able to tell the sex of the baby yet. At 15wks they might be able to see the sex but very very hard and more likely to be wrong. That is the reason that they wait until after the 18th wk to determine sex and other things.

5 weeks 2 days of development is more than you think.
There is no way to tell the sex from an ultrasound at 10 weeks, but some 3D's pick up the sex at 15 weeks. We found out at 18 weeks with a regular ultra sound.

looks liek you answered your own question, yes thats correct. I am 15 wks and my baby is 4 inches long as of wednesday and s/he looks normal. We couldnt see the sex of the baby because s/he wouldnt open their legs, and they were sucking their thumb too. At 10 wks my baby was 3.8 centimenters long and bouncing around so much it looked like they were having FUN!!!

This is what developmentally a 10 week fetus looks like. Ten weeks is already starting to look like the "normal" view of babies, arms, legs things like that.

This link has pictures of babies at each week. I used this with our son when I was pregnant with our daughter so he could see her progress each week. It became our weekly ritual!

We found out her gender at 16 weeks gestation.
