Well My 7 Yr. Old Nephew Loves Saving His Money To Buy Games And What Not. And I Was Saving My Money Up For A Mall Trip That I Was Going On With My School, And I Need Atleast $50. I Had $4 In My Pocketbook, and My Dad And I Went To Pick Up A Pizza And When I Came Back My $4 Was Gone. I Asked Him About It And He Just Said He Didnt Have It, We Argued For About 10 Min. Before My Sister And Younger Nephew Said They Both Saw Him Take It And Put It In His Green Wallet. Of Course He Kept On Denying It. Well My Dad Told Him That If He Wanted To Lie About It Fine, Because God Could See Everything And That He Would Get Punished By God. Well I Guess He Started Feeling Consious Because After Everyone Settled Down, He Followed Me Upstairs And Said "Hey TT I Did Take It..." And I Said "Okay Bub, I Guess You Can Keep It Because I Really Just Want You To Tell The Truth" Was I Right To Let Him Keep It? I Mean I Felt Really Bad For Yelling At Him. I Really Needed The Money But I Feel Better.

I Feel Better That He Is Happy And Has It... But I Needed It... I Just Dont Know. Of Course Thought Now I Am Not Taking It From Him, That Would Kill Me. Well Did I Do The Right Thing By Just Giving Him A Lesson And Letting Him Keep It?

I don't think you were right to let him keep it. Just because you confess to stealing something doesn't mean you're entitled to keeping it. The fact that he didn't confess to it until you brought God into it isn't any good either. He should have enough respect for you to be honest (which he clearly isn't since he stole). How long did it take you to type up your details? I think I'd go crazy capitalizing every word.

No, you didn't, although it was generous of you. All you did was teach him that it was okay to take your money and that he would have no consequences.

You should have gone down and told the adults in charge, with your nephew, and let them decide what his punishment should be. You have to remember that he lied to his Uncle, who was in charge at the time. This is worse than stealing the money, because if you can't trust a person to tell you the truth, how can you back them up when it counts.

It's too late now, but no, he shouldn't have been allowed to keep it. Although, you did do the right thing by not punishing him after her told the truth. It would have been better to have a discussion with him then about why we don't steal and lie.

Oh, and by the way, you don't capitalize every word in a sentence. Only the first letter of the first word or the first letter of a proper noun. That was really distracting.

you didn't give him a lesson. you taught him that he can steal and lie and when he feels like it tell the truth and get away with it. It is never ok to steal from anyone. you should of took your money back and told his parents what he did. He needed to be punished not just made to feel bad.

My opinion, no, he needs to lean that there is a consequence for taking something that is not him, and lying about it first.

by letting him keep the money you are telling him that it was ok to steal.

so he will likely continue, enjoying the fact there are no consequences....
