Many breastfed toddlers have days when they don't eat much regular food. The composition of breast milk changes to meet the nutritional needs of the child as she grows, and the caloric content of the milk changes *during* each feeding - the foremilk at the beginning is more watery, while the hindmilk is creamier and higher in calories. If your baby wants to just nurse instead of eating table foods, rest assured that he or she will get the needed nutrients and calories.
Also, cow's milk isn't necessary if your child is getting breast milk. Why would milk for baby cows be more nutritious for a baby human than milk for baby humans??

if you'd like her/him to eat more, try giving them more baby jars. start with the yucky stuff...like veggies, or meats, and then fruit for desert.. ...tasting something not so pleasant...and then tasting something good always motivates me to eat! lol i wouldnt be too worried though. you could always ask your pediatrician how many calories a 20 month old needs to intake during the day and see what their opinions are and what they suggest. (i'm sure they get tha question more than i do) :) hope it helps tho.

I didn't know you could still breastfeed at 20 months! One word : OUCH!! tell you baby's doctor about this. About the Breastmilk having calories good Question, but when it comes to giving the baby the milk I think calories are needed. Don't you think?

A 20 month old should eat balanced meals. By that I mean solid foods, grains, meat, vegis...etc. Breastmilk is beneficial to him, but at this point you should be giving him whole milk as well because it has many nutrients that a child of this age needs.
Ask your pediatrician what to do if he doesn't want to eat certain foods!
I researched this topic a lot myself, and try to keep track if he is gaining weight right. i think that is very important at this age.
Good luck.

Yes, it does, and there good calories too. But at 20 months he/she should be eating table foods. I would talk to the babys doctor about this.
