Did your waters break before your contractions start or after?
Did you have a feeling that they were goingt o break or was is a complete surprise, also how many weeks were you?

Granted she is 1 month old, I want her to feel safe and secure, but I want her to start getting used to self soothing and being comfortable being by herself to sleep. She has slept with me or in my arms up until now. When I put her in her crib she cries. When I put her down when she has already fallen asleep in my arms she'll wake up in a matter of minutes and cry. I think she feels abandoned. She stops crying if I go in the room and rub her head and talk to her but as soon as I leave she cries. I cant even put her down to take a shower, shes not even content alone in her swing. Is this a phase? I know shes still just a tiny baby. But I dont want her to develop any bad habits.

I read in a parenting magazine that drinking green tea can cause miscarriages? Has anyone ever heard of this from their doctor and do you believe this or not?

there's this kid i babysit. he's 3 and has a mild form of autism. i take him to go pee every 30 min. and he pees in the toilet (he won't tell you that he has to go, though), but he won't poop. he'll poop his pants, and i'll sit him on the potty while i clean up the mess, and he jumps off and says he's all done, then finishes the job in the second pair of underwear. he did this twice. the third time (this is over a week of babysitting various nights), i sat him on the pot and told him to finish going (there was only a little in his underwear when i caught him). i read him a book hoping that would take his mind off of it, and after 10 min. still nothing. so i put a pull-up on him and he finished the job almost immediately. i talked to the mom and she said she'd rather have him poop in the pull-up than be holding it in because he won't go in the pot. (her oldest son held it for 3 days because he didn't want to go in the toilet). why are kids afraid to poop in the toilet?

I'm sick of people saying you need to be married to have children...and it isn't right to not be married. Its all about personal choice....some lady responded to someone and said dont have children if you aren't married and may god forgive you of your sins. I'm 26 wks pregnant w/ my first baby and although I am in a very loving commited relationship I'm not married. I plan on getting married in 2 years. Why are people so close minded? It is almost 2008

Is it safe to take castor oil to start off labour! I am 4 days over due and in total agony they wont start me off for another week or maybe longer! Is it safe? And do you think it will work?

i received some information for a site for first moms and i emailed my information. then i called the phone number. the man couldn't talk and all i could do was cry. i actually had a live voice that knew something about my situation, but he had to go. i asked if he knew of one first mom that would talk to me. just a voice......... he told me he'd email some information. i'm so overwhelmed with emotions. my mate overheard me on the phone and wanted to know who i was talking to, he knew it was a guy. i told him. he got mad and said, "for crying out loud that happened 'X' amount of years ago, can't you just let it go?" i can't stop sobbing. he's a good man, he just doesn't get it. i've tried to tell him. he doesn't understand. any ideas? i feel so alone. i feel so dead.

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and just recieved a call from my doctor that they are having me seen at a high risk pregnancy doctor on Monday..
I already have two sons.. the oldest was born at 9 and a half pounds.. the second was 7 pounds 9 ounces and I was induced several weeks early because of a hernia. So I have been blessed to not have many complications..
Anyhow she said that After my ultrasound the other night they are concerned because of the size of the baby.. he was only considered to be in the 11th percentile.. WHat does this mean? What COULD it mean? I'm just worried sick now.. Anyone else ever have this issue? I was very sick puking all of the time in the beginning of this pregnancy and was also nursing my last son.. but stopped because my doctor was concerned..

After over 4 years of trying to get pregnant, out of the blue I took a pregnancy test on Monday due to sore breasts and just not "feeling right" the test was very positive. I go to the Dr. today to confirm. Please pray for me and my husband. I am so scared after trying for so long that I'm going to go there today and she is going to be like.. no your not pregnant. Both my husband and I would appreciate any prayers on our behalf. Thank you so much!!! You all have been wonderful with answering all of my questions.

Ok, my sister is 22 weeks pregnant. She has been in the hospital for about 2 weeks becasue she was dialated to 6cm and they have had her on bed rest. Today her water broke....they said that if she didn't go in to labor with in 48 hours that that was a good sign. Doesn't you water breaking mean your in labor? And what are the chances of the baby surviving or being ok. Any web sites info at all is welcome!! :)

I was attacked and raped a little over 2 months ago, and now I am 2 months late. I take BC pills religiously (0630 every morning). I was really stressed out last month, but took a HPT and it was neg. So I chalked it up to being stressed. This month I am late again, so I took another test... still neg. Now before you tell me to go to the OBGYN, I have an appointment for Monday. I have all the symptoms that I normally have for my period, minus the period part if that makes any sense. Do you think that I am still stressing so much that it is delaying my period?

Please give only serious replies. I am stressed out enough.

Ok so i was at a party about a month ago and i was only going to make sure that my friends made it home safely, i know that you arnt supposed to drink things at parties because you never know whats in them but i wasnt thinking and i had some punch(well more than some-quite a bit of punch) i dont really remember what happened after that, i mean i remember standing there and watching the party and then the next thing i know im at home in my bed and its the next day. well my real delima is that i have been feeling really tired and wierd and ihave missed my period so i bought a test and it was positive! so now i am pregnant and i have no idea who the father is, and i am only 18 and i depend on my parents still! my family is very religious and would flip out if they found out about this! i dont know how to tell them or if i even should! please give me some advise on what to do!

I babysitt an 11 year old girl, she is in sixth grade, recently I was helping her with her homework, it was math.
She was multiplying fractions. What surprized me, was that, she didn't know how to do it, without her fancy calculator (which she left at home). Her teacher, she said, had never told her that you could do it without a calculator.
I was shocked.
I showed her the "real" way to do it, that actually involved doing math, and she did the whole page of work.

This scares me, because, we are teaching our kids to be so dependent on technology, that they cannot do anything by themselves. And at such a young age...
Where is the work ethic?

Do you think this is terrible?
