Never heard that. Actually I've heard the opposite that green tea is not caffeinated and therefore good for preggers.

Green tea won't cause a miscarriage anymore than coffee will. In high amounts like if you drink 10 cups a day - this could pose an issue because of the caffiene content. About the equivalent to 2 cups of coffee is safe which equals about 4 cups of green tea. Stick with decaf Green Tea. It's nonsense to think that green tea causes miscarriage. If you do a bit of research on miscarriages you'll find that the grand majority are caused by genetic factors or physical issues completely beyond mommy's control. South African Rooibos tea is perfectly safe and harmless. It does not contain harmful herbs. Women from South Africa commonly even give it to babies to soothe and calm. Rooibos is flavorful and much more enjoyable than green tea with more positive benefits as far as phytochemicals and all that goes.

My doctor said green tea is fine in moderation after the first trimester. She said you can have 1 to 2 cups a day, just like coffee.

No...never heard it...not true. See the link below.
In response to some other answers...yes, green tea has caffeine...a very low amount, so moderate intake is just fine...you can also get decaf green tea...also, green tea is not herbal by definition (yes, made from tea leaves, so it's natural, but it does not have added herbs)...it's made from regular tea leaves that have not matured as long as others.

I only drank a lot of soda with caffiene with my third child, no tons of it but more than my other two pregnancies. She was dx'd with kidney cancer at 13 months old. Better safe than sorry. I would say no caffiene and def no herbal anything. I know it's hard but water, milk and juice really are best.

Uhm, well Green tea contains caffeen witch is okay if it were say one cup....Though caffene is bad for the developing child, so i'm gonna have to say, Yes it could, because of caffene.
Though you know You could also listen to everyone else....I only had a test on it yesterday.
Some women stay away from it when brest feeding, cause caffene go's threw mothers milk.

When preggo you shouldn't intake anything CAFFEINATED or HERBAL!
This can lead to complications with the baby but as far as miscarriages? Well, that would be on the EXTREME end of things.
