It means that the baby is not as large as they would like it to be at this stage in your pregnancy, probably because of your illness and nursing during the early part of it. they are not desperately worried or you would have been asked to go in at once or even admitted to hospital right away, only that they would like you to have a little expert care and advice while they sort out what, if anything ,is wrong and what to do about it. if your general health is good and your food intake back to normal then there will probably be nothing to be done but to allow the baby time to catch up..and worrying yourself to a frazzle won't do anyone any good...so bear in mind that your doctor feels comfortable with waiting until Monday to have you seen by an expert and be glad that you have a doctor who makes these arrangements promptly. If you need to have more information then ask your doctor for it ..they use these medical terms as if they were everyday English and we will all understand, which most of us don't and sometimes you just have to tell your doctor to pretend that you are an idiot and use words of one syllable!
Both I and a niece of mine have had similar experiences to yours and things turned out fine in both cases..so, good luck, be well and take care of yourself.

When I was pregnant with both of my son's the ultrasound showed small babies. I had the extreme morning, noon, night, snack time, etc. sickness. Breastfeeding your other son probably drained your body of much needed vitamins. Concentrate now on eating healthy. 5-6 small meals a day if you can get them all down and it will help put weight on the baby. I was and still am a high risk pregnancy, but the doctors tell me that they will take care of me and the baby, all I have to do is eat right and relax relax relax. I know that it is very hard, but have faith in the doctor that you have chosen, they generally don't steer you wrong.

Don't stress yourself worrying about what the situation is. Your doctor is sending you to someone who has more expertise in the area of babies. They've noticed the baby is smaller than they expect, given the stage of pregnancy you're in. Still doesn't mean anything. This baby may just be smaller then your others. You might not be as far along in your pregnancy as they thought. Thank your lucky stars that they aren't just sitting on something that's different, but putting you in the hands of someone who can advise you or even treat you and the baby with something preventable.
It's hard not to worry, but it'll be better for both you and the baby to think positive thoughts. Your own body is its best healer.
My second pregnancy was fraught with different medical situations after my first was a breeze. Every one is different. Take care and good luck.

If you are this far along, you definitely don't want to stress out about it. The baby feels everything you feel, whether you want it to or not.
The best thing to do is to call the doctor and try to talk to someone about it. If that's not possible schedule a meeting with him soon. If they don't allow you to, just show up at his office and tell the receptionist that you will wait until he has a free moment. He should tell you more information than that.
If you don't feel comfortable call the specialist. See what he has to say.
If you have had two good births before, chances are that you are going to have another one. See if there is something in your diet that you can change to make it better. Ask for advice.

it means that this baby is falling below the growth curve, which they usually measur e a little later because babies change dramatically between week 28 and week 40.. I would see the specialist and not sorry so much, think positive, think ofit as a chance to see your lil bundle more on ultrasound than the normal mama.. smile, breath, relax, all will be ok.. best of luck to ya

relax. i'll pray for your good health and for your baby too.
takecare... it's just a birth weight percentile. maybe you have a big baby in proportion to what your uterus can hold. i'm not so sure, ask the doctor about the significance of that birth weight percentile just to be sure. don't be afraid to ask you doctor.

calm down and wait until you see the doctor face to face, it is probably just a precaution...you had two good births...stress is not good for you or the baby.
