No you haven't waited too long! I know surrogate mothers who are several years older than you with no trouble. Geez. 34. That's a good age to be a mother!
You still have another decade before you need to start worrying, though every year that goes by at this point is a higher risk of complications.
But right now? You're fine.

from what I've seen, it's almost never too late. that is unless you're in your 40s. My husband's aunt gave birth to a health baby boy last year and she was 36, she is planning to have another. by the time the next one is born she'll be 38.
my mother was also 36 when she had my younger brother.
it should be know however that the chances for the baby having DS is higher based on the age of the mother.
your doctor will want to test the baby while in the first 3 months. you can forgo this test if it wouldn't matter to you.
if you would kill the child, let them do the test.
either way good luck

I will be 32 when my first baby is born. My husband and I are planning on having more than one. My husband wants a son and we are having a little girl. So he is already planning our second pregnancy. I have had a lot of people tell me that in your 30's is a good time to have a child. I don't think 34 is too old!!! I personally feel I'm way more mature now than in my 20's. I think in your 20's you are growing up with your child. NOT that having a child in your 20's is bad!!!!! My sister had all 3 of her kids in her 20's. It just wasn't a good time for me. I got married to my husband at 21 and I wanted to have him all to myself for awhile!!! We traveled, got careers, now we are ready. Well as ready as we can be. Whatever you decide, best of luck to you and your family.

No. I was 31 with my last. My sister was 34 with hers.
The son of the 34 year old is good looking, healthy, great at sports, and a well liked kid.
She's loved parenting.

You have not waited too long. Usually 36 is when people start having problems. But get started quick, I would say. Should make for a very Merry Christmas, huh?
Good luck and Happy baby Making.

Huh? Are you thinking 34 is too old? Go for it! I personally, want to wait until I'm at least 35.

No you are not. I am 30 and now just starting for my first. My BF just had her first at 32. My sister-in-law is 33 and trying for her 2nd. My neighbor is 39 and has a 6 month old! The only concern is after 35 we are automatically high-risk, but that means they just monitor us more closely! There are a lot more of us 30+ and ttc out there then you think!

Absolutely not!!
My sister is having her first at almost 36, and plans to try for her second once this baby is a year old, when she'll be almost 37. I think its great!!!
Maybe 44, but definitely not 34.
Good luck!!

No, I dont think so. I have a friend who is 36 and having her first. But if you really want another baby I would not put it off much longer. The older you are, the more chance there is for complications. Good luck.

My mother had my brother at 39 and he's a strapping giant of a teenager now.
But the pregnancy and labor were very difficult. Make sure you consult an OB/GYN before becoming pregnant and get informed about the increased risks of later pregnancy.
Good luck!
