My 2.5 month old son now sleeps through the night, usually from 8 pm - 4 am, then 4:30 am - 7 am. But he no longer naps in the day. He is always VERY tired before bedtime at 8 pm. Is this okay or do you have any suggestions for me to get him to nap in the day? Thanks.

I have heard how reading to your baby help them develop a love for reading, is relaxing and may improve IQ. I have been trying to read to my baby, but he is more interested in pulling at the book, placing it in his mouth, or pounding on it to hear the sound his hands make. My question is, is there a way to make this more relaxing for him (and me)? For those of you that accomplished this, what tricks did you use?

and he would hit them ,the school would allways not see the other kids taking toys off him ,he would go into temper tantrums at anything and if you walked away from him he would stop it ,we told this to the school ,so one day he went into one the head teacher treid to pick him up and did her back in by doing that,so she called a meeting telling us she was going to take us to the union about this but we said to why di yoy try and pick him up ,why did not you not just walk away cos you know that works ,

I need to know my chances of being pregnant. Do you think they are good chances or probably not good chances. I have been irregalar since I got off Depo in 2004. My last period was Aug. of this year. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests last one being last weekend. My hubby and I had unprotected sex (he pulled out in time he says) on Nov. 1st. Lately I have been VERY very sleepy but at night I have insomnia which I had which my son. My stomache feels wierd but not sickly. I feel HUGE, Could I be pregnant from the unprotected sex? Would the last pregnancy test be accurate? I know you're supposed to wait until your period is late but it already is!!! LOL I am going to the DR soon, but I just wanted to see what you thought to calm my nerves a bit LOL

I watch my sisters kids (who are 3 1/2 and 5) every Wednesday for her and yesturday I was giving them a bath and the 3 1/2 year old one looked at my daughter and said "Why is ____ black?" My daughter is White/Black (I am white and my Fiance is black). When he said that I was completely shocked. He does live and go to preschool in a predominatly white neighborhood but their parents have friends that are black and have had them over. Anyways, I never thought I'd have to explain to my daughter why she is darker than mommy or not as dark as daddy at the age of 2. I DON'T plan on talking to her about it now because I want her to just enjoy her toddler years and she didn't even notice what he said nor did she comprehend it but how do I manage my thoughts about it. Inside I got mad at him for asking WHY she is a certain way. I just can't believe things like this start at such a young age. I know both are too young to know better so plz don't say that I just feel so bad for my daughter

My son is a picky eater; he doesn’t eat anything else beside foods that are fried, such as fish stick, chicken nugget, and French fries. Is there anyway to encourage him to start eating fruits and vegetables? His older sister have no problem when comes to eating healthy. Please help!

I have to go to hospital tomorrow to have a scan as I'm 37.5 weeks and my baby is in a transverse lie.
I'm due for a c-sec on Tuesday, but my Midwife has warned me that if baby has not moved into a head down position by tomorrow(which at this moment it has not), I will have to stay in hospital until my c-sec due to a risk of cord prolapse....do you think they will let me stay at home on bedrest instead..I hate hospitals??
Has this happened to anyone else ??...its really worried me!!!

she grabbed him by the arm and made him fall out of his desk. i talked to the principal and he got very defencive with me. i asked that my son be moved to another teacher,he said it was impossible, and that i could find another school. i dont really want to do that, as a parent, do i have the right to move him to another teacher? the teacher told me herself that she had been thumping him on the head when he wasn't paying attention. and i refuse to send him to her class until this problem has been resolved. the school is acting like im over reacting,but i saw a change in him since this september since school started.he will cry when i drop him off in the morning and say i dont want to go to school. hes never done that before. so am i over reacting? ill be dammed if some lady who i trusted with my child evoryday is going to treat my child this way ,and destroy his self asteem. since i found out he's been alot happier and it seems like a big weight has been lifted off his sholders

I havent been to one since I was in HS (10+ years) But our sons obsessed with the tuba, and we went to the bands pancake breakfast last spring and he never wanted them to stop playing. Just a little worried about sitting in the auditorium for awhile. He's a pretty mild mannered kid, and when allowed to watch something on tv, is glued (mostly music shows)

My son is not walking yet (still crawling) and in the summer I let him go barefoot as I wanted to give his feet room to grow (there is a history of claw-toe and foot problems in his dad's family and I was worried about this)

Trouble is, now its getting colder he will NOT keep shoes and socks on! He has lost two nice pairs of shoes by pulling them off and throwing them out of the buggy in town when I wasn't looking (I never found them) and numerous socks have gone this way too.

He does the same with hats and gloves. Expensive!

Even in the house, on really cold days he refuses to keep socks on when he's playing and his feet end up really cold.

Any ideas? I'm so worried he's going to catch a cold or something!

A girl I know is now 4 1/2 months pregnant and she used to be one of my best friends last year but now I really don't like her. i found out I am also pregnant but only 6 weeks. I just found out she will be finding out the sex of her baby on Nov. 20th. She picked out a girl's name and two boys' names. I won't know what I am having for a little while still. This brings me to the problem. One of the boys' names that she picked is the main boys name on my list. What should I do if we would both have boys? She may pick that name and I want it and we can't have the same names. I know I don't have much control since she will be finding out before me but anyone have ideas or maybe a different boys name than Landon that would be cute and unpopular and sounds good with the middle name Marcos?
