I have to go to hospital tomorrow to have a scan as I'm 37.5 weeks and my baby is in a transverse lie.
I'm due for a c-sec on Tuesday, but my Midwife has warned me that if baby has not moved into a head down position by tomorrow(which at this moment it has not), I will have to stay in hospital until my c-sec due to a risk of cord prolapse....do you think they will let me stay at home on bedrest instead..I hate hospitals??
Has this happened to anyone else ??...its really worried me!!!

sorry but i do believe that transverse means lying across you (---) the baby is the lines across the brackets are your tummy!! hope i am right!! not breach!! head at top feet at bottom! if you know what i mean...
well anyway have you tried rubbing your tummy?? having a warm bath?? (sometimes this can help the baby move!!)
have they not tried turning the baby?
sorry my daughter had moved out of the transverse pos at 28 weeks so i don't know if it is possible to stay at home on bed rest i personally would go hospital if need be, you are in the best possible place if need be. but don't worry talk to the midwife about your concerns
good luck and would like to know how things go after your scan x
all the best

a million. A twine prolapse can take place at merely approximately any time and if it does, that's a straight away c/s as though the twine is earlier than the toddler's head the top will decrease off the blood furnish interior the twine and the toddler dies by using fact it nevertheless needs the twine. ok the toddler sits in a woman's uterus yet would not come down till very previous due interior the being pregnant. It ability that the twine can get in front of the top and prolapse down into the vagina. If that occurs that's as I pronounced, the top if it got here down the start canal it may compress the twine, reducing off the blood furnish and the toddler finally ends up very dying frequently because it has no blood furnish to the strategies. 2. it would desire to have exceeded off each time and can possibly have exceeded off in that era yet might have exceeded off previous to that besides 3. i could not say if it became negligence or not... it may selection from difficulty to difficulty That your son is respiratory on his very own and receiving different care is probably a good element.

Wow, I have NEVER heard of a woman having to stay in the hospital because of a breach baby. A breach baby is not a problem, its normal. What kind of scan is she going to do? Unless its an ultrasound that definitely shows a problem with the umbilical cord.... there is no reason to stay in the hospital, or on bedrest!! To try to turn a breach baby doctors have a series of weird positions and stretches to try, so there's no reason to be worried unless an ultrasound confirms a problem.

Did your midwife ever have you do the breech tilt to get the baby to turn himself? My first one was transverse and I did the breech tilt to get her to turn around.
Usually a cord prolapse is caused by the bag of waters rupturing early. However, a baby cannot be born in the transverse position.
